I know I'm reading this about 4 years after you wrote it, but just wanted to say I love the article! I am making some of the mistakes (oops) and then I am apparently doing a few things right. Thank you for sharing this...do you have any updates? I'm an infant blogger and hungry for knowledge! Karen http://www.ablogtoremember.com/?p=329

So, today is Day 9 Can't believe I'm almost 33% done with the fast...what a ride it has been! Much, much easier the second time around. No fear of the unknown...only anticipation of the good feelings to come. Feeling great, getting that surge of energy again...wanting to run - but I know that wouldn't be a good idea. Soon...soon. Blood pressure: 120/72 Heart rate: 71 Weight Loss: 17.5 pounds Rock on! Continue reading

Today marks Day 7 of my 2nd Annual 30 Day Water Fast. Everything is going very very well. It is much easier the second time around - I feel like an old pro and I know what to expect from my body as it releases its dependence from food. The hunger is gone. It was a tough first three days and then it just completely disappeared. It has been replaced with an amazing energy. Just like my last fast, I want to get out and run and bike and hike...just have to be careful since there are no calories to... Continue reading

It is hard to believe it has nearly been one year since I did a 30 day fast. I want to make this an annual journey for myself and this time I have decided to start a little earlier so I can avoid fighting the temptations of the upcoming holiday season. My fast starts today - I will attempt to make it 30 days again. As before, I will only drink water with an occasional black coffee or non-sweetened tea. I know the first few days will be difficult, but I also know I can do this and keep on... Continue reading

Day 27 and Day 28 are here and gone - my 30 day Water Fast is drawing quickly to an end. I have been having some weak spells so I have decided to break my fast today with some small bites of fruit. A little more than one day early - but, feel it is the right time. The research I have done says that the faster will know when it's time to eat again and I feel that day has arrived. Weight Loss: 35 pounds Blood Pressure: 117/77 Heart Rate: 71 I have been drinking sips of fresh juices... Continue reading

Day 26 has arrived and now it's gone! As planned, I am now going to add a couple of ounces a day of juice. Today, I purchased fresh squeezed 100% tangerine juice. I brought it home and poured a half a glass in a small wine glass. I took a couple of sips and that was all I could drink. It was just amazing! The taste was indescribable. I will keep trying to take an ounce or two more a day until Day 30 when the fast will be officially "broken". Lab work is back. Fasting blood sugar: 77 Total... Continue reading

Something about the sounds of *Day 20*...seems like there should be trumpets blaring, a choir singing, something...but, it is just another day. Another good day too. Went to work, came home, went to sleep, woke up...time to catch up my blog. Oh yeh and... Blood Pressure: 117/70 Heart Rate: 74 Weight Loss: (drum roll please) 28 pounds! (again with the Holy Toledo!) I am trying to listen to my body. From the research I have been pouring over, it seems that at this point in the fast, if you get hungry it is time to eat. I certainly do not... Continue reading

Today is Day 18 of my 30 day water fast. I missed blogging on Day 17 as it was a bit too busy to get to my keys. I feel absolutely wonderful. Had a couple of days of aches and pains and now back to high energy, no hunger, feel like running, can't wait to run, think I'm going to get a bicycle, excited about life and ready for today (or tonight for you people who actually sleep at night and work during the day)... My life is filled with work, getting ready for Christmas, studying for PALS recertification (pediatric... Continue reading

Day 14 was a really really bad day. Felt exhausted all day. Tired. Dizzy. Grumpy. Really really grumpy. Right Paul? (sorry Paulie...) Had a bunch of errands to do which took me all over Fresno. First round of grumpiness. My grandfather's 96th birthday is in a few days and I wanted to get him a freshly made fruit cake. I went ..BIG MISTAKE...to Whole Foods. Oh. My. Gosh. My senses went absolutely crazy! I walked through the door...the smells almost knocked me over. It was nearly more than I could take! Fresh bread, fresh everything! The olives were amazing -... Day 13 is nearly over and I see that the official ticker on my blog says: 17 Days, 3 Hours to go... Very hard to believe. Time has moved quickly while on this journey. My blood pressure has normalized. I'm losing weight. I feel energetic. I feel a clarity of mind and purpose. I feel the need to make goals, set standards, plot my future. And, without all the shopping, cooking, eating, dining out, etc...I have the time to actually think and reflect and write. I still feel great. No hunger. Nothing bad to report. Weight loss: 22.6 pounds Blood... Continue reading

Well it is Day 12 of my 30 day water fast...I have had the worst aches and pains in my back - I think it is just post-massage stuff. Last night was a long night in trauma. Just felt achy and tired most of the night. Had to stand for a long period of time supporting the weight of an old fellow who was having a procedure done and for the first time since starting the fast, I felt a little light headed. After I walked around a bit, I felt much better. Big birthday party for one of the... Continue reading
