Actually, there is a precedent in the quran for honor killing - Verses 18:74 and 18:80,81. The story is about Moses accompanying a Servant of allah on a journey. Several things happen during that journey that, at first, Moses doesn't not understand but later learns it was all for best. One of things is an unprovoked killing of an innocent young boy. The servant explains later that he killed the boy because the boy would later (note the verses below - the boy had not done anything wrong, the servant only "feared" he would) rebel and become an unbeliever. (18:74) So they twain journeyed on till, when they met a lad, he slew him. (Moses) said: What! Hast thou slain an innocent soul who hath slain no man? Verily thou hast done a horrid thing. (18:78) He [the servant] said: This is the parting between thee and me! I will announce unto thee the interpretation of that thou couldst not bear with patience. (18:80,81) And as for the lad, his parents were believers and we feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief. And we intended that their Lord should change him for them for one better in purity and nearer to mercy. Another interesting note about these verses is the use of the word "oppress". It is suggested that the boy's parents would be "oppressed" if the boy became a disbeliever. Other English translations equate this word with "grieve". So, the next time you hear about muslims fighting "oppression", keep in mind it could simply mean muslims are fighting what "grieves" them - rebellious children who wish to leave islam.

I find it curious that TWO police officers saw the man, yet no description at all has been released. I wonder why? Could it be the man had specific ethnic and/or religious features that are deemed too politically incorrect to mention? Anyone want to bet the guy has a beard?

I don't think "tone it down" means to lessen the overall message. As I see it, the problem is (not a problem for me, but for the Miami-Dade Transit) is that its too 'in your face' anti-islam. Make it a bit ambiguous. Drop the 'Fatwa/Community threatening' bit and leave it at "Leaving Islam?" and maybe underneath something like "We Can Help" The ads need to avoid any direct jabs at islam, while at the same time promoting an alternative. If someone wants to leave islam, they already know the dangers and the threats. Don't rub that in right now at the start of the public campaign. Leave it subtle. "You want to leave islam? Here's a way out..." I agree with the commenter who said 'tone it down'. The current bus ad is getting NO exposure right now. If 'toning it down' gets an ads that stays up, I'm all for it. SIOA can still sue for the initial removal, but the main goal at the moment should be to get the messages back up. I know this is an unpopular stance, given that the JihadWatch commenter was singled out. But sometimes, less is more.

I was unemployed for a while. When I was filling out applications, I proudly marked "No criminal record", until I found out that was actually hurting my chances for employment. Employers receive tax incentives for hiring ex-cons, and that is leaving us law-abiding citizens out in the cold. The democratic party is ignoring hard-work, honesty, and common decency over rehabilitation and multiculturalism. Its really a shame. America should be a place where those such virtues are rewarded. I guess its just become so uncommon that its politically incorrect to reward them. In a world where every kid gets a trophy "just for playing" so as not to hurt his/her self esteem, what incentive is there to excel? Why am I busting my ass, working hard, and building a good reputation when its worth no more than the drug dealer or the pedophile down the street? Its sickening what America has become.

Wow, this is good news. Not just the support for Israel, but the lack of support for Palestine. To hear the MSM tell the story, I would have expected these trends to be reversed.

At first, I looked at the logo as having unintentional similarities to the islamic crescent and star. But now, the more I see it... That is definitely an intentional crescent and star. What purpose, besides islam, would those two coupled symbols have in the field of missile defense systems? Any? Does anyone know? I can understand the star - striking and destroying missiles in the upper atmosphere or even in space. Even the blue field within the crescent could be explained as sky. But why isn't the earth, presumably the circle inside the crescent filled? Why is the atmosphere around the 'earth' crescent shaped (see the MAS logo) instead of symmetrical? Other examples of the crescent surrounding earth symbol, check Alex Rawls' comment (#65) at Gateway Pundit. I suspect this design was created by a muslim artist, and probably given preference in the name of diversity.

This is only a means to prevent women from seeing other concepts and beliefs. muhammadans know islam is a misogynistic death cult, and they know if muslimahs see how much better non-muslim women have it, they'll want such freedom & equality too.
