At least conservatives have, in effect, stopped defending the rash decision to bring Palin onto the ticket. I you are going to nominate the first woman, don't embarrass all women be nominating less that the best possible candidate. Obama, on the other hand, the first black nominee is there because he has earned it. He ran the best campaign, he got the most votes, the got the most delegates, he raised the most money, he even registered the most new voters. Finally, he's an impressive, intellectual, former editor of Harvard's Law review, a Constitutional Law professor at Univ of Chicago's law school, graduated at the top of his class both at Columbia and Harvard. I want an impressive person running the country. If he happens to be black, all the better. I'm proud to vote for him because he's the best candidate. And, as a black man in America, I'm proud to vote for him because he's a black man.

Palin doesn't irk liberal women. Palin is a liberal's best friend. She's an irrelevant Vice-Presidential candidate on a ticket that is 8 points behind (by some polls) going into the last month of the race. We liberals all love Sarah. What's not to love. She's beautiful, she attracts the Republican base. She spews the Republican talking points to the Republican base. Independents have already stopped listening to her. Independents are now Obama's to lose. All he has to do is convince them that his plans make sense. Go Sarah! You are doing a great job. Enjoy your 15 minutes.
