No worries. It's hard to get tone when you don't know someone. :) Still, it is important to /not/ start a convo about someone's looks. But really, that happens so much everywhere else. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, INTARWEBS. *shakes tiny fist mightily*

Girls that cute have been playing RPGs for years. But it's also years of men & boys not taking cute girls seriously. Or any women for that matter. I still, after 20+ years playing, have people ask me if I'm shopping for "your husband/boyfriend/sons". Maybe if more men took women seriously as *gamers* and not just interested if they're "cute", it might even the odds a bit. Sorry, don't mean to rant a bit about it or take it out on you. But really? It's that kind of talk which keeps many women from the hobby as it makes for an uncomfortable environment. I kinda talk about it a lot: http://hotpinkfreak.wordpress.com/2011/03/19/a-frustrated-woman-gamer-speaks/

I've commented about this before, Wil, but I'll say it again: my absolute favorite blog posts of yours are the ones about you and your sons. Absolutely. This.

I will give you one American dollar if you can figure out a way to work that into a show.

The best part about what you write, is when you read the stories. Your facial expressions and improv really shows the love with you and your family. I'm wiping away tears of laughter and also from the obvious love in your life. Thanks again, Wil!

I love it when you write these stories. I'm 2 hours away down south right now; the weather is gorgeous and cool. It's a good day for meditation and reflection. /tip hat

I think this was my favorite GenCon so far and it didn't have anything to do with you being there. *wink* Okay, so that was awesome; I'm the goofball yelling the Mensa stuff with you when my sister handed you a cookie from GeekyCookies (One of my projects was to get one to you.) At any rate, I wasn't working, got to play a LOT of great games, spend a huge amount of time drinking delish beers (they have Stone beers & more over at Scotty's, plus open gaming tables) and meeting AMAZING friends, old and new! /ironguardsalute

I am so excited for GenCon this year. I'm not working and can just spend as much time as I want talking to gamers, playing new games, meeting friends old and new. We plan on spending a massive ton of time at Scotty's Brewhouse due to their awesome menus, scheduled gaming and open gaming tables. PLUS COLLECTIBLE DICE. http://www.scottysbrewhouse.com/brewhouse-xtras/gen-con-2010 Hey Wil! Did you pick a day/time for a t-shirt meetup/photo op? I want to make sure I don't miss that, even if I can't get a seat in your panel. Actually, since I've seen you a couple of times, I'd rather have someone new take my spot and share the love. Still, don't want to miss zee photo op!

"2d6 electrum pieces and 1d4-1 XP." YES! Just what I needed to level. See you at GenCon, good sir!

Hi Wil! I hit up Monte Cook via Twitter about coordinating another t-shirt photo op and he thought it sounded fun. So, hopefully he'll take the lead on it again! If not, I certainly don't mind helping! Maybe we'll have more than four people this year. Oh, and an aside. My sister said something to you at the Chicago w00tstock in regards to my mother's invite for the Mensa speaking gig next year. I can resend if you need. /salute

I admit; I not only got a tear, but sniffles enough to make my husband glance away from our WoW queue. /salute

Ooooh yeah! MAIN Left Row C Seats 4 &5. Will I need to cover myself in plastic like at a Blue Man Group show? Nah, I think I'll take the full-on geek splash, baby. OH CARP. Now I have to figure out which Geek Shirt O' Dooom to wear. Hey Wil, if we all show up in the "How We Roll", can we get a GINORMOUS picture with you guys? A girl can always dream....

Wil, this post (and your others about why gaming is important) are such an inspiration. I was crying over it, much like we had half the room crying at your session at #PAX Prime last year. Heck, I think I'm /still/ misty-eyed. At any rate, I am glad you are able to share with us all, why #PAX is such an amazing event. I run into people who say, "I don't like that Penny Arcade comic. Why would I want to go to their stupid convention?". I will use my mighty powers of +65wpm to throw this link right at them and say "THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD GO. NOW SHUT UP AND BUY A PASS.". Finally, thank you for making the Iron Guard salute even more popular. I'm hoping I won't have to stand in line at the doctors office like last year. :) /salutesandstopsrambling

What Tschilai says about Intrigue. Spot on. I've played with the Sea Side expansion a couple times in one sitting and I did extremely well with it. However, if you don't figure out the right combos to use with the coins and islands, it's kinda wonky. I thought I'd like it more, but maybe I need more playtime with it.

I absolutely agree about Dominion. We take it (and the two expansions) with us wherever we go. I've only recently played Small World, even though we bought it a while back. Another quick & fun cooperative game you should try is Red November. It was actually our most popular game at SteamCon! I'm a big fan of the Savage Worlds system and I think you'll enjoy it, too. And YES, I'm really excited about the Dragon Age RPG. I think Chris has designed a winner on this one, to be sure.

*SQUEEEE* Dominion is a favorite in our house, along with Dominion: Intrigue. I'm looking forward to the next expansion. A friend is a play tester for it and ...well... sometimes I wish I didn't know spoilers. It's going to be AWESOME.
