We suffer from a lack of trust in the nation and we must rebuild that trust by adopting campaign funding reform. Americans are familiar with baseball and wouldn't pick one wearing a leg brace to use as a pinch base runner yet we foolishly continue to elect folks to public office while recognizing they'll be indebted to large campaign contributors upon arrival. Nothing, either great or calamitous, occurs without great participation by we the many, even if our greatest participation is a failure to react, and we must begin to participate better. We must face todays problems by using the common sense we hold and just a little bit of usage of such will produce more for our nation and our economy than trillions of dollars of improperly targeted spending, be it federal or personal.
