Good stuff bobbyd12. I do hope we go heavy on D this draft. We still need some help on offense but IMO it wasn't our offense that kept us out of the playoffs this year.

Also, just to continue, his other job was to install an effective organizational structure. Part of that structure includes the GM who obviously is very instrumental in making personnel decisions. I guess I'm not sold on Ireland and wonder about his influence in this process.

It was really just a bit of speculation and everything you say makes perfect sense bobbyd12. I also fully understand it’s the consensus but just to continue this line of thought for a moment more, do you think the Pat White pick was really a Parcells choice? And whether it was or not wasn’t it really outside his philosophy? Why pick a 2nd round project in year 2 of rebuilding? There were a number of good players we could have picked up with that pick.

I happen to agree that Parcells has a pretty clear track record in how he drafts. I don't see a RB or WR in the first round but I have to ask if he will impose his will in this draft. He has been grooming Ireland and Sparano to work independently from him, right? I mean all the speculation is how much longer he will stay. So it isn't a stretch to think he might be a little more sit back and let the proteges work with him giving input rather than it being the Parcells show. If it isn't the Parcells show then it might shake up the way a lot of us think this draft goes down. I still wonder about the Pat White pick last year and if it was really a Parcells pick. I read the stories about him and Belicheat going gaga over the guy but that pick still seemed a little out of character to me. Anyway, just food for thought.

LOL @ NJ I remember that guy too although I don’t remember his name. That wasn’t me. I used to post on the SS occasionally but was telling the truth that I really have only read Mando’s blog and just started posting the other day.

LOL @ Rob in OC nice! As for the SS, I stopped reading O when he said he doesn’t do the stock report because of dirty looks he gets from players after putting them on the down list. How can you be a legitimate journalist and be afraid of upsetting your subject?

Indiana, I also agree with picking up Wilfork if possible. He’s a beast in the middle, I’m not sold on Soliai and Ferg’s ability to stay healthy scares me a bit. I would love to keep Ferg as back-up and sign Wilfork to man the middle for the next 4-5 years. Lips, as I said yesterday, I like your perspective on NJ and have adopted it as my own and I absolutely do respect his football knowledge. In regards to the Oline, Smiley is the biggest problem IMO. He may be the best while healthy but unfortunately he is just too injury prone for us to have any true continuity.

Indiana, Josh has been on here with the same refrain over and over for weeks now as you know (I’m pretty sure you already mixed it up with him over this issue.) We get it Josh, you want Marshall, Wilfork and…I forget what the 3rd step of his 12 step fix the Dolphins program was. Thanks NJ. I’m trying to come up with a new name so I don’t feel like it’s a dig on you every time I post and for what it’s worth I am glad you give us your assessment on the players at the Senior Bowl practices. Nobody else does and I can’t watch while I’m at work.

I guess Green let so many receivers get behind him he wanted to see what it was like to have the shoe on the other foot. What an a**hole. Josh, just for the sake of argument, say we trade for Marshall giving up a 1st and a 3rd or something similar and 2 weeks into next season it blows up in our face with Marshall either getting into trouble off the field and getting suspended for an extended period of time or creating a rift in the locker room because he is unhappy that we don’t throw the ball to him 15 times a game; what would the fans who clamored for Marshall not be able to do or say at that point?

Indiana Dolfan, I hope it isn’t an indication Ronnie’s days are numbered. I have always liked him as a player but also feel he has never really met his true potential. If we want to go away from the wildcat then Ronnie can be replaced as RB is one of the most talent laden positions in the league. If we want the wildcat to stay a significant portion of our offense then IMO Ronnie seems to have a unique knack for running it and keeping him is imperative.

I would be shocked if they don’t jettison Porter. There is no way that Wake could be any worse than Porter defending the run and, in his limited opportunities, Wake was far more dynamic than Porter as a pass rusher. It seems every time Wake had an opportunity he created pressure. If the stories are true about Porter not coming out of games when he was supposed to then he completely undermines everything this regime stands for and Lawrence Taylor he is not!! I enjoyed “Lips” take on your attitude NJ and will adopt his way of thinking as my own. Being a Dolphins fan in the heart of New Jersey must be a never ending battle and we all know that you represent us well. Keep bringing the good football knowledge and God Bless :) You will notice I am now blue even though my screen name is a bit of a misnomer for in no way do I feel I am always right.
