The R&RHoF previously used the bag of clothing an an installation entitled "Lennon." It was housed inside a column with see-through colored windows. You had to walk up & peer inside to see what was in each window (I forget what the other items in that column were but his broken glasses were also a part of it).
It was the most moving exhibit I've ever experienced and seeing that bag of belongings was its defining moment for me. Surrounded by memorabilia and hearing Lennon's music around, this bag of clothing drove home the message of a Pete Townshend quote in one of the R&RHoF's documentaries about the people in the business he's loved who have died due to drugs or violence: "They're your fucking icons but they're my fucking friends."
