thank you so much! everything was awesome that summer! Paul's work schedule was so chill. I had my first backyard garden. We bbqed every night. we went to the farmer's market across the street every weekend. we walked on the beach. we watched the sunsets. we drank such great beer and made such fun cocktails. we watched the olympics. it was just SO FUN and lazy and awesome. my favorite ever! I'm looking forward to about four years from now when Paul's schedule is relaxed again, our kids can run around outside in the warm sunlight evenings and we can do that all again. ;)

hi Julie, Yes! It's all-in-one for me. Dr's appts, Paul's call schedule, my work schedule, podcasts, home stuff, to do lists... all in one. I figure I have to do it all in one day, why make it more complicated than it needs to be? BUT. I think this might be "best" for me because I work from home. It all happens in the same place. If I found myself in an office 5 days a week, I could see having a totally separate work calendar. I hope that helps a bit! I don't think there is a wrong or a right way - just experimenting to find the BEST way for YOU. :) elise

Thanks for the link! I think you have emailed me before about this and I really appreciate it! You're right, I always struggle with seam allowances. For yesterday's quilt though, perfection was the opposite of the plan. The plan was to just do my favorite parts of quilting and see what the result was. To me, the result was awesome. To some others, the results were awesome. And to still some others, the results sucked. I didn't get into this yesterday and I am seriously as done as can be talking about it, but the reason I originally planned to auction it is that folks on IG had expressed real interest in the progress photos I had shared. I figured if I did an auction, someone who really wanted it could own it AND a charity (Habitat in this case) could benefit. I wasn't going to keep a dime of the profit. Sometimes with a giveaway, people enter just to enter, they don't really care to win. (I have two unclaimed giveaway prizes just sitting in my office right now). Anyway. It was a disaster according to some. I probably should have just skipped the blog post and carried it all out on IG where there was history for the project already. But I live and I learn and I make mistakes. I will not make this one again. I apologize for the novel on your comment. ;) Thank you so much for your helpful feedback.

shitty indeed! but pulling it together. The dear Ellerie letters did get some heat which sucked but somehow (crazily?!) made more sense. I know parenting is personal. I didn't realize quilting was. Always love seeing your quilting on IG.
