What Kind of Dog is THAT ?
About a year ago my family convinced me that we really needed to get a dog. A puppy to be specific. This puppy to be even more specific. We got him from Western Border Collie Rescue because he’s, well, a border collie mix. At the time we didn’t know exactly what kind of mix he was. As the w...

Hmm, which tradition to tell you about, seems the whole season is tradition for us. The biggest I guess is Christmas dinner, being English background it's still the whole turkey, pork and ham thing. Then Dad (who's 83) gets to tell the story of how he asked for seconds of Christmas pud when he was a little tacker, couldn't finish it and had to sit there for ages (the time changes every year), even his great grandkids know it off by heart now!! I love it.

Did I smell too many roses?
It is just as well that I was smelling the roses as by saturday, an horrific hail storm knocked them all off the bushes in my garden! "What garden?", I hear you ask. That would be the garden I had before saturdays storm wiped it out! Not to mention the 6 windows, one door and three sky lights wh...

Confession
My name is Melanie Hurlston, and I am a fabricoholic! Yes, I have way too much fabric and I know that I never could and never will use it all. One of the habits of being a fabricoholic is going to Sample Spree at Houston Quilt Market and just grabbing multiple random fat quarter bundles without...
I've just started working with wool and I'm loving it too, but still can't put in a stitch without my thimble either. The other day I found myself at the post office picking up mail - still wearing my thimble!! Funny!
