It turns out the briefcase belonged to a local high school student who goes by the nickname "A-Bomb." (Thanks to DavCat)
Okay, so this new toaster will essentially toast bread in half the time, right? Does anyone else notice it is designed for ONE PIECE OF BREAD??? In other words, if you wanted a toasted SANDWICH, it would STILL take you nearly as long to toast two pieces of bread, and your first piece would probably be cold before the second one was done.

Dave, I love your funny columns, but the 9/11 column you wrote was my all-time favorite. I was editor at my college newspaper during 9/11, and I looked for your column that week because I wanted to know how you were going to handle the situation. I immediately cut it our and it hung in my cubicle for the two years I was editor in chief...it now resides in a folder where I put all my important stuff from there.
