Also, it strikes me that the statements you say Wakefiled made in various fora didn't appear in the paper. If that is so, then that aspect of the paper can't possibly be objected to, as he didn't make these statements in the Lancet paper itself. I would like to read the verbatim statements he made. Obviously, he didn't put certain statements in the paper because he didn't feel they stood up to the requirements of a peer-reviewed paper. Nowhere is it written, however, that a scientist may not speculate elsewhere.

Instead of asking us to "work through the Wakefield category," could you post a link to the alleged fraud and faked medical histories stuff? Are these facts, or allegations?

Love this! I also always loved history that talked about the everyday life of the people instead of harping on The Great Man (almost always Man, once in a while a Queen Eliz. I or Catherine the Great, but ...) Political movements etc. were always much more to my taste. But if I entered college today I'd try to find a place where I could major in the history of cooking! Keep up the good work. So glad Anya is still so full of curiosity and enthusiasm.
