Dude, when you are playing without your best two bench players, Haslem and Miller, this happens vs. a good team, especially with a 1-18 shooting night from Bosh and we only lose by 4 on the road.
That's why this is just the regular season.
Chill and may Haslem get well just in time for the playoffs.
Ummm.... Hmmm
Really? 1 for 18? Really?!? There aren't many games where a single player can take the blame for a loss, but this might just be one of them. No, the Heat wasn't perfect. Far from it. The littany of mistakes, which we'll get into momentarily, though, were only made more magnified because Chris Bo...
Michael Beasely is the Heat equivalent of the Dolphins' Tedd Ginn Jr. He has been coveted as a high riser for too long and has fallen so miserably that you can't even get a ham sandwich in return for him now when a few months ago you could have gotten a very good PF for him.
Now all the teams know he sucks bad and he will be traded for a fifth round pick similar to Ginn's sorry ass.
But then again Riley, keep him, he's sure to come around next year. I mean he's improved so much.
Game 2 Breakdown: Celtics 106, Heat 77
BOSTON - Okay, so now what? With this best-of-7 series shifting to Miami for the next two games, the Heat clearly has two choices at this point. Fight and get into this series. Or fold and head into free agency. With the way things went down in Tuesday's 106-77 loss to the Celtics at TD Gard...
Just my opinion and I am a Heat/Wade fan, but man Wade is such a flippin diva. This whole lobbying effort is so damn annoying. Who runs this organization. It does not appear to be Pat Riley and D-Wade's ego is really turning me off.
Yes I want the Heat to win and I know that Wade can't do it himself, but man, this is terrible.
The Heat are not gonna be a contender with just Odom anyway. Make no moves this year, hope to make the playoffs and then make massive movements next year and if Wade gets grumpy, trade his ass.
Why wait? Because Odom is worth it
This is why you can't rush things The issue is not whether Lamar Odom or his agent are playing the Heat's free-agent interest against a bid for a larger contract offer from the Lakers. Of course, that's what they're doing. ...
I want to see Beasley thug some punk out after they shove Wade hard to the floor. Oh wait, he's a sissy. How bout that stat "King Riley?"
Heat eclipsed with Cavs' Moon shot
This is what happens when you keep stocking up with prospects. Sometimes someone of quality gets away. Has Jamario Moon done anything so egregious to be summarily dismissed? No. He played well, when healthy, in his minutes with the Heat. ...
I believe there are some unpublished subtle barbs at pretty boy Wade's lobbying somewhere in those comments by Riley. Keep wearing the pants Pat. Good job.
Pat Riley won't be bullied, Boozer-ed
Pat Riley won't be dictated to. Dictators rarely are. It is why the Allen Iverson chatter has faded. And it is why, in the wake of Carlos Boozer's recent round of lobbying, Riley released this statement: "We listen to all inquiries, but there is nothing going ...
Riley just after the season ended: "Haslem is not the kind of player you look to trade."
If Haslem gets traded I hope he burns the building down on his way out and blackmails Riley for the money he turned down so Miami could make acquisitions.
I also then hope that Miami goes into a decade long slump against the Knicks again.
Boozer is not an upgrade, The problem is not at forward. It's at center and every one of your all's rotations have J.O. as some sort of miracle worker inside.
Pleeeezzzz!!!
Separating Heat reality from the chatter
Based on the buzz emanating from AmericanAirlines Arena in the wake of Pat Riley's sessions with season-ticket holders, a few thoughts on the swirl of issues surrounding the team. Sometime soon, not that either side is in a rush, expect s...
Speculation articles are trash and nothing but a way for beat writers to meet their assignment deadline like this one.
What is gonna happen is that the Heat will do nothing until after the All-Star break, hope J.O. performs well and trade his ass for something perhaps worthwhile in the future. Same with Sleazy.
I think Wade was subtly saying get the hell rid of Beasley while you can get something for him.
Is A-I The (Heat's) Answer?
That certainly was the question Tuesday. Had a chance to sit down with Allen Iverson for an extended interview Tuesday after his charity foundation awarded two scholarships to college-bound students from his Hampton-area hometown. From the interview, it was easy to come to a few conclusions. ...
Resign Smush Parker already!!!
Heat's In-House Approach
Somewhere, Earl Barron is seething. Then again, he might very well be celebrating. After all, he was a summer league legend (as well as a heck of a nice guy during his Heat tenure). And this is the time of the year when the Heat normally heads up to Orlando for the Pepsi Pro Summer League and ...
we are nothing without a center. No way Jermaine can do it.
The Key(s) to Perspective
It's amazing what a bit of perspective - and a week removed from the playoffs - will do for you. Took the weekend to get away from with the wife and kids for Mother's Day. Made the drive for the first time all the way down to Key West (usually I punk out at Key Largo). Did the dance down Duval ...
holla. I am honestly rooting for Beasley to get better as well.

Shawn, point taken.
I do lampoon Beasley undeservedly a lot because of the goons on here, not just to put Haslem above him, but because the points that some people post are just so ridiculous.
However, I do not see Beasely being a big factor in the NBA at this point. That however is just like my opinion and as they say about opinions, they are like a$$holes, everyone's got one.

You guys are all morons. Haslem is not on the fuc&ing team to score 20 pts. He knows it, the coaches know it, the rest of the team knows it, why don't you fools? You cannot try to compare Haslem and Beasley talentwise. They have vastly different talents and are vastley better than or weaker than the other in those talents.
I go back to a point that I've made 18 million times. The only reason this whole Haslem vs. Beasely conversation exists is because we don't have a fuc&ing center. Haslem is not a true center and never has been and for damn sure O'Neal isn't much of one either.
The only conversation that can be spoken about Beasley and Haslem is intangibles, not talent. It is highly obvious that Beasely is more talented than Haslem, however it is also highly obvious that he is a terrible decision-maker.
I understand that Beasely is a rookie and will only improve, but until he can play defense he will not be a starting PF on any team. You will see him move to SF next season and start with Haslem at PF and perhaps take over the starting PF role as the sesason progresses if he can show improvement.
You all don't know crap about basketball. I don't just root for Haslem because I went to UF, I root for him because he has intagibles and I don't think he'd be a co-captain with Wade if he wasn't an asset to the team.
And about ego, somebody tell me how someone with such a big ego opted to take A LOT less money when he resigned with the Heat so there would be money to give to Wade, free agents, etc... to make the team better. He would have been acquired by another team for a lot more money coming off of a title year than what he ended up taking from the Heat to stay in Miami because he has a passion for you fuc&ing idiots.
You guys must all be from out of town, cuz U.D. is 100% Miami. Are you guys Knicks and Yankees fans?

I'm not making Haslem into anything more than what he is. A guy who went undrafted, played overseas for a year, made the Heat practice squad, made the starting roster, took less money to stay in Miami so the team could land better players, covered the likes of Dirk, etc... enroute to an NBA title and is the one of the biggest hustlers in the NBA.
I think Pat Riley agrees with me when he said "Haslem is not the type of guy you look to trade."
I appreciate what Haslem brings to the table as a player, none of which Beasley contributes.

I omitted the word "never" in the first sentence of my second paragraph. It should read:
He will NEVER have the raw passion and hardness that it takes to be dominant.

Yes, Michael Beasley will be an all-star ---In next years sophomore vs. rookie game. The only way Beasley makes the real all-star game is if he plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the other starting five are Dorell Wright, Dorell Wright, Dorell Wright and Dorell Wright.
He will have the raw passion and hardness that it takes to be dominant. He will always be too tentative to be great and too soft to play defense against a real all-star. It's a good thing Vlade Divac doesn't play anymore cuz then we'd have to watch Beasley get the Vlade Divac Spank Pattle.

The grades are spot-on. The only players that got a B, minus Magloire due age, are the only ones worth a damn on the team.
Wade
Haslem
Beasley
Chalmers
All others can easily be replaced by your grandmother.
Final Grades Are In
A week that opened with the Heat still in the playoff mix will end with the team already immersed in the initial stages of the offseason. After tallying the highs and lows, ups and downs, pain and progress, breakthroughs and breakdowns, we now present the final player grades for the 2008-09 se...
firespo all future comments on player's talents shall be ignored by you saying that Jamaal Magloire would have been a better presence than U.D. who got like 6 offensive rebounds.
Man idiots everywhere.
Where To From Here? Here.
It never really seems like it's over until, well, it's over. The Heat's season ended Sunday with a loss to Atlanta in Game 7. The team went from planning to move on to Cleveland to face LeBron and Co. to heading back to Miami to face the reality that it's done. And it's been a long, long, long...
14 pts. and 13 boards on the road in Game 7 is mediocre. Shut your ignorant pie hole.

This is why I get so irate on here in the Haslem vs. Beasley debate.
JUST CUZ THEY ARE BOTH PFs DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE THE SAME RESULTS!!!
Haslem is not on the team to score. Look at his shot attempt numbers vs. Beasley. Beasley is on this team to score. He is much more athletic and can put the ball on the court and drive. Udonis is just a pull up shooter from the exact point where he gets the ball. Udonis is a hustler. Beasley so far is not. I am well aware that Beasley is just a rookie and will get better.
The only way that Beasley takes Haslem's PF starting position is when he becomes both a reliable shooter and improves on defense. The Beasley/Haslem debate is really only fueled because we have no Center and neither Beasley nor Haslem can fill that position. They tried it with Haslem for a while, but that didn't work.
Beasley and Haslem are apples and oranges.
Could MIA trade Beasley. Of course. Will they? Who knows. Sometimes you sell high, although it is obvious that Beasley has his flaws, but he obviously has a lot of upside. In my opinion Beasley will never be a dominant force in the league. Just cuz you are drafted 2nd overall doesn't mean you are going to be successful.
I am very proud of the Heat for their tremendous turnaround and I applaud Spo for that. The problem with the team is depth.
When you look at the roster you really only have two players who are quality.
Wade and Haslem.
Chalmers will be a good PG. Beasley might work out. From there, there is nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Again I applaud the team and coaching staff for the season and only harp on Beasley because he frustrates me. I obviously wish the guy well.
L8r Heat fans.

I only get on Beasley's case cuz of the morons on here who say he should be starting over U.D. at this point.
However I am beginning to think that Beasley will never be a defensive factor and will thus always have to be handcuffed by someone.

The Heat will win today because Haslem will kill the Hawks with his eyes. Beasely needs to shoot a higher percentage and the Heat will not crowd the paint so Wade will be able to penetrate.

Haslem needs to step up. I laughed at that one.
When will you guys realize that this is simply a mediocre team that isn't going anywhere this year.
I love em and I hope they prove me wrong, but I'm realistic. They might get past ATL but if you think this roster will get past CLE, you guys are ill.
The Heat will not return to being a good team for another few years.
Sounds Like Fightin' Words
First off, we apologize for the technical problems with the blog the past few days. We're doing some renovations and should have the tweaks worked out in short order. But on to the matters that really matter. Count me among those who thought it was lame for some Heat players and coaches to compl...
