Thanks Nikki
I just wanted to take the oppertunity to say a ginormous thank you to Nikki complete with a rib squishing hug and maybe cake. Nikki's idea has changed the world for the better (and how many people can say THAT?!).... Continue reading

Hi and welcome and HOOBOY those are some cute progeny you've got there!
Intro from the rural Midwest, USA
My name is Tabitha. I keep a blog called Starting from Seeds where you may learn all about me, but for now: I'm 29 years old, a daydreamer- my best friend refers to it as a Rich Interior Life- , wife to Karl and mother of 4. Our children are 2, 4, 6, 8 and I home school them. We have a little h...
Tunic to Frock - A Tute
Well HEY you guys! I been out of touch for AGES, but I'm hoping to worm my way back into the WR crew with a tute, (and the fact that I haven't bought anything new!) So, can we talk about... Continue reading

Long to Short - Yoga Tee
Too hot to sew around here, but there's always room for super quick instant gratification. This is a hack down of a long sleeved tee (because it is hot NOW and I am in total denial about the existence of... Continue reading

The Remedy
Another frock, but this one is... medicinal. I had a fierce case of the lost sewing mojo (if I was a golfer it would be called the Yips) two projects went catastrophically wrong in the space of two days. I... Continue reading

Invisible Extras
Another dress? Obsessed? Who, ME? I just like them. I could stop any time... So yup. Another dress, and this one barely even counts as a refashion as all I did was add some extra length to a tunic/too-short dress.... Continue reading

Shirt To Dress Refashion
This here is a refashion of a refashion (of a dirt cheap sale item). I started with this fella and a dash of inspiration from a Grosgrain post (Kathleen ALWAYS has great refashion ideas). It's... wrinkly. And WAY too big.... Continue reading

I do. Love paris. A lot. Shabby Apple's new collection of dresses is all Parisian inspired and HOLY CATS are they ever cute. This dress is the one that instantly seared itself onto my brain it's called Oh La La... Continue reading

The Swimsuit Tute (that might make you dumber)
This is a super-quick-extra-sneaky post, on account of how this isn't really a refashion and I feel kind of naughty for posting it BUT... Remember how I made a swimsuit and was all "you guys, it's super easy!"? Well I... Continue reading

VERY Katherine Hepburn... Lovely!
This new high-waisted look
These pale grey trousers were a size too big (well actually they were OK on the hip but big on the waist - I'm that sort of shape). I planned to seam in the crotch area somehow and convert them to some slouchy low-waisters. But it didn't work out. So I unpicked the waistband, took them in at...
Le Boutique Dollaire Couture
You know those times when you get invited to a formal function with 5 hours to spare and all the shops are shut and you're stony broke anyway but the FATE OF THE FREE WORLD depends on you looking fabulous?... Continue reading

Oou FAB! Thanks heaps for the run down. (I know what I'll be doing this long weekend!)
1950's dress from 1970's sheet
I got a set of yellow printed sheets (oddly, it turned out to be one twin fitted and one full fitted sheet) at the thrift store last year. I used some of it to make these lounge pants last summer. I decided to make a 50's style dress and thought the mix of decades would keep both the fabric and...
The Before-and-After, Self Portrait, Bean Bag Tripod Tute
OK. Hands up if you're a tiny bit uncomfortable in front of a camera? I TOTALLY am, but I'm trying to get over it and doing WR has helped; because I don't have a dress form I end up "modeling"... Continue reading

Don't Fear The... Swimwear*
Once again, not a real refashion, as it's a from-scratch with new-bought material. BUT I just wanted to say that you guys! Making swimwear is not as scary as you'd imagine. In fact it's SUPER EASY. I made myself this:... Continue reading

Miu Miu Inspired... Kinda!
Shoes aren't included in The Pledge, which is a good thing for me as I happen to have GIANT, Sideshow Bob style feet, which can make finding ANY cute shoes difficult, let alone thrifted ones. So when I spotted a... Continue reading

Thanks Toni!
One of the things I've learned about scoop necks is that stay stitching them is kind of a must (I'm usually too lazy/sloppy for that kind of detail). But boat/scoop necks can stretch out of shape FAST! 'Specially on a loose weave fabric.
I'm also a big fan of chalking out things before I cut them (I've been know to use blackboard chalk). It's way easier to see how something is going to look if you can actually SEE it.
Anyway, super good luck with your vintage (can't wait to see!) and with the whole two months.

Sweater/Dress
I've re-upped for another two months, the last round was SUPER fun and it went so quickly that I barely made a dent in my stash. I loves me a sweater dress. Yay for getting dressed in one brainless step. And being snoogly. So when my mama picked me up this sweater/coat fellow (on sale at Monso...
Wow. cutest less-than-two-dollar outfit ever!
You obviously have a good eye for potential. (and accessories, that bow cardigan/silver clutch combo - LOVE!)
