Let me know when someone starts a petition for ANY of the following:
Fire Ireland.com
Ross Sell The Team.com
Manning to ANYWHERE BUT Miami.com
Give Me A Super Bowl Before I Die.com
I will be glad to sign any of these but I don't want to part with the money that Manning is going to want and I DON'T think he will fully recover nerve function in his tricep. (Although, I DO hope he does since I am not a jerk!)
Grassroots movement encourages Manning signing
There's a grassroots movement in town to bring Peyton Manning to Miami. No, I'm not talking about Dolphins owner Stephen Ross's intentions of having his team chase Manning. I'm talking about the folks that put up a billboard close to the intersection of Interstate 95 and Interstate 595 near the ...
Why does every pick we make seem to come with "tweener" tags?
Is it bias by the NFL Network/ESPN?
Odrick-DE? DT?
Misi-ILB? OLB? DE?
Dolphins select Utah OLB Koa Misi
Koa Misi is Miami's second round pick in the 2010 NFL draft. That obviously fills a need. The Dolphins had only Cameron Wake, Charlie Anderson, Erik Walden and Quentin Moses on the roster. Anderson is a career backup. Wake is unproven. The other two are backups. Misi has a chance to come in and ...
We get it carlito!!!
You want Jerry Hughes!
Give it a rest now, PLEEEEEEASE!
Dolphins trade 1st pick San Diego Chargers
The night just got longer for the Dolphins. And their quiver of arrows to use in this draft just got more full. They have traded the No. 12 overall selection in the first round to San Diego for No. 28 overall. The Dolphins also gave up their fourth round pick (110 overall) and a sixth round pick...
Caneshop....is your full screen name (Coc)caneshope?
We will not be selecting a QB in the second round for essentially the 4th time in 5 years.
Tebow=Great PERSON ..... but AVERAGE NFL PLAYER

hey bobbyd12...I would take the 40th pick over two threes any day.

If he slips to 28, do you think the Dolphins could pick TE Gresham?

I would say the honeymoon is over this year and the "newlywed" process begins next year.
If the Dolphins continue to beat themselves in 2010, then the coach will get some heat.
For a first year starter, I am happy with Henne but he must show improvement next year in his decision making.
Oline makes me feel good considering our ability to overcome injury (although I think resigning Carey was a mistake). He gets beat too often and feels like he is comitting more penalties than the rest of the line together. Also would like to see the "injury prone" tag come off Thomas, Grove and Smiley.
Our safeties still feel like a liability and we need a game-changing WR.
Overall though I think that makes the Dolphins about 4-5 players away from serious contenders.
It's all about U: Dolfans understand the process
My column in Today's Miami Herald (yes, we still print an edition you Internet freeloaders should purchase every once in a while) discusses a topic you should be familiar with: You. The fans. Frankly, as Yoda would say, "impressed with you I am," because many of you don't want to jump off the ba...
Maybe Porter being inactive is a small message to "Play More/Talk less" but don't be surprised if:
Wake now gets more playing time and
Turner gets his roster spot!
Dolphins downgrade Joey Porter to out
Joey Porter will not play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday. It is not because he is injured. It is because coach Tony Sparano has decided to sit him for this game. The official line is that Porter is out because of "coach's decision." Club spokesman Harvey Greene tells me that is differe...
12 men or stupid TO, either way....Sparano SCREWED UP!
He did alot of great things in that first half but that was 4 pts we cannot afford!
Dolphins lead Saints 24-10 going to 3rd quarter
The Dolphins have owned this game. Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown have combined for 111 yards and three touchdowns. The Miami defense has caused two turnovers. And Miami is blitzing and pressuring Drew Brees, which is one reason he has completed only 12 of 22 passes for 104 yards and two interc...
Please tell me somebody is going to ask Sparano WHAT HE WAS THINKING by calling a TO when the Saints were going to kick the FG!?!
Dolphins lead Saints, 14-3 to start second Q
The Dolphins are on fire! They have scored two touchdowns on Ricky Williams runs, one that went for 68 yards and one that covered 4 yards. The defense, meanwhile, has come at Drew Brees and Co. with blitzes and pressure and has an interception from Tyrone Culver that led to the 4-yard Williams T...
Vernon Carey is right about needing to clean things up a little BUT he needs to be looking in a mirror when he says it! He is BY FAR the worst starting lineman we have.
What's happening at this hour in Dolphinsland
The Dolphins are about to go into team meetings and coach Tony Sparano has already spoken to the press. This is what's happening: Defensive end Philip Merling is walking around the team facility with a protective boot on his left leg. He has an ankle injury, according to coach Tony Sparano. The ...
I don't want to put a damper on the party but people always say nobody talks about the bad during a win:
In my opinion, resigning Vernon Carey was a mistake. He run blocks pretty well but he is DEFINITELY the weak link on this Oline during pass protection!
Look at the film...OVERHALF the sacks/hurries given up by this oline have been from
Fall in for the fallout from the Buffalo victory
The picture said it all. While a cluster of reporters gathered around Dolphins rookie receiver Brian Hartline Sunday afternoon, Ted Ginn dressed quickly and quietly a couple of locker stalls over. Hartline, rewarded with extra snaps for his recent play, was talking about his first professional T...
I expect a quasi-rookie QB that continues to gain experience and learn!
If you want what I predict:
14-25 125 yards 1 TD, 1 INT
The Dolphins won't let Henne carry this team (unless the Dolphins defense continues to be shredded.)
Expect a heavy dose of Ronnie and Ricky (40 carries 160 yards)

I was pretty accurate if I do say so myself (and I am glad I was wrong about the INT.)

You were looking for a player that DOESN'T have something to prove? How about Ricky Williams? Somehow he has a big role but little expectations because (believe it or not) he has managed to remain out of the public eye. He isn't the starter (Brown) and he isn't the "next big thing" (White). He is just a complimentary back.
Interestingly, because Jake Long's agent was so good, now Long has the pressure of those salary bumps.
Dolphins have much to prove -- which is good
My Sunday column is about motivation and how coach Tony Sparano loves players "with a little chip on their shoulders" because he believes that gives them an edge. It is hard to argue with Sparano about this because he is right. He's convinced a good football player is one with talent and work et...
Armando,
You are kidding us, right? There is NO WAY that the Dolphins can convince anybody they are really trying to make a championship run this year!
Talk is cheap, the moves they made speak volumes! What were our biggest holes last year? Stopping the run, getting pass rush, and throwing the football. Other than some 'maybe's for pass rush, name me another hole we legitimately filled?
Who is on this roster to stop the run that wasn't here last year?
Are Hartline, Turner and White going to significantly upgrade our passing game (especially with an accurate, but limited, Chad Pennington at QB.)
Teams that are trying to win TODAY, will fill their major holes and, along with two rookie corners, the Dolphins are still going to have trouble stopping the run and creating offense (unless White TRULY revolutionizes this offense...do you think THAT is going to happen?)
Dolphins thinking about winning it this season
One of the most fascinating things I deal with as a middle man between the Dolphins and their fans is how sometimes the team and the folks rooting for that team share a common goal and common thinking. And sometimes they really do not. Sometimes the disconnect in the team's agenda and the fans' ...
