Thank you so much! Lisa, yes we do have wool flannel, and we will most definitely be stocking it online once we have that all set up. Thanks for asking! :) xx

Um, cough, hello? It's been a very long time in between posts. Too long! But I just wanted to pop in and say hi. Like lots of us, I've been wondering if blogs are even still alive - what with... Continue reading

Hello! Just a quick post to mention that I'll be at the wonderful Bowerbird Bazaar designer/makers market this weekend doing a toymaking demonstration. I'll be at the big table in the Stirling Angas Pavillion at the Adelaide Showgrounds from 9.30-12... Continue reading

I have been experimenting a bit lately with these little patchworks. I'm not sure what to even call this kind of thing. It's not a mini-quilt because there's no quilting involved. It's certainly not 'fibre-art' or 'textile-art' - yikes, no.... Continue reading

Yes, Camilla! The one we go to is in Summertown, not far from Ashton, so possibly the same one. We were only there last weekend and there were still quite a few trees with fruit. It was nice & quiet too. :)

(excuse the phone photos) One of my favourite wholesome-type family things to do is fruit picking. Call me easily pleased, but the combination of fresh air, happy kids and take-home bounty is pretty much a winner in my eyes. So... Continue reading

There's not a lot of time for making at the moment. So this little quilt has been plodding along a few seams at a time, all slow motion-like. If anyone is wondering about the details, those upside-down arrows are supposed... Continue reading

Audrey has been showing interest in sewing again - a few weeks ago she asked to make a toy. Yes! After looking around for ideas (ie: me reigning in her wonderfully grand plans to something a little more suitable for... Continue reading

I know it doesn't seem like it but there has been making here lately, just not the bloggy documenting of it. Some of that making has included starting yet another quilt. (I know no one is counting, but I've been... Continue reading

This quilt is for Audrey. She carefully chose colours and picked fabric from the stash (although I did throw a little grey & black in there to scuzzy it up somewhat). It's a good challenge, working with someone else's colour... Continue reading

Lately I've been tooling around with this quilt. I've seen a few of these simple H blocks around the traps and - being the mother of an H - knew that a quilt of them would definitely be on the... Continue reading

Henry turned four a couple of weeks ago, so we made chocolate owl cakes to celebrate again this weekend with my lovely visiting Dad. My little buddy was in charge of smartie sorting and eye placement - the owl in... Continue reading

Hi Camilla! Where do I start with Adelaide craft/art blogs? There are so many wonderful ones... Carly (neststudio.typepad.com) and Amy (umbrellabella.blogspot.com) and their Umbrella Prints blog (umbrellaprints.blogspot.com), Jane (lempobee.blogspot.com) and Fiona (fededesigntextiles.blogspot.com.au) and Naomi (naomimurrell.blogspot.com) and Gillian - who has a list of locals on her blog, too (sewknitlaughlove.blogspot.com.au) and Leah (hyena-in-petticoats.blogspot.com) and Nell who has commented below. I know there are more I am forgetting, but these fantastic women are the first that spring to mind on this Monday morning. Happy reading! xx

Well. I didn't intend to make that such an long break from blogging. But, you know, once you get out of the habit it's difficult to get started again. I've done a fairly pitiful job of documenting this holiday season,... Continue reading

Making a few more toys to accompany this monkey into my shop before Christmas. (His trousers are made from pieces of an old harris tweed jacket, it was such great fabric to sew with). Organising fairy lights, a trestle table... Continue reading

I made a penguin called Arnold for this year's Softies for Mirabel. We love penguins. My kids are particularly bonkers for them - I think it's probably something to do with Pingu. (If you are wondering, the pattern for Arnold... Continue reading

Thank you all! Kayanna & Adriana - hi! - I'm not really sure yet, it all depends on if Penguin groups from the US/UK take the book up. My fingers are crossed. :)

Hi Deborah, I've emailed you back. The seam allowance is included - cut along the line, and sew your seam 1/4 inch under that. Cheers, Fiona.
