I went on a three-day cruise once and felt like I was on a boat for almost a week afterward. I felt that was entirely unfair. Here's hoping your inner ear settles down faster than mine did!
I am no longer on a boat...
...but my inner ear is pretty convinced that I am. Goodtimes. Goodtimes. Until I have enough moments in a row to reflect on and recount the amazing and wonderful time I had on #JoCoCruiseCrazy, I wanted to take a second to share the best part of the entire trip for me: For seven days and six nau...
Years later, Wil Wheaton learned about the original pitch for the character of Wesley Crusher...
now it's just getting silly
The thing is, I don't even like The Smurfs*, but we have a friend who is working on The Smurfs, and we feel compelled to send him as much Smurf-related imagery as possible. If you wanted to caption this one, too, I'm certainly not going to stop you. *Currently, that is. When I was 8, I fuc...
DOUBLE BOUFFANT ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY!!!
Wesley Crusher's Sweet-Ass Motherfucking Bouffant
When I was a teenager pretending to fly a spaceship, I got to do a lot of really cool things with a lot of really cool people. The price of admission to this wonderful world, though, was the most annoying hairdo I've ever experienced in my life. I called it Wesley's Helmet Hair, because it did n...
Enjoy the con, man! You've certainly deserved it. I was hoping to get to exchange shiny gold rocks for dead tree writing, but I'm certainly not going to throw an Entitltrum over you actually, you know, having fun. Because I try not to be a dick.
My 2010 PAX Prime Schedule
When I was at GenCon last month, I signed autographs and stuff for close to six hours a day. I got to meet a lot of people (and took home about ten pounds of dice!) but I hardly got to see any of the con, and I got to play a grand total of three games while I was there. I’ve been working my ass ...
What are the chances of a Rock Band Party at PAX this year? Because that would be awesome. All kinds of awesome.
Friday at the 2010 Phoenix Comicon - the awesome hour and rock band
Since I didn't write about it while I was there, I'm recapping some highlights of the 2010 Phoenix Comicon in the next couple posts, starting with Friday. Friday: I have felt creatively stagnant for months, and unable to write much of anything. I suspect it's because the creative part of my brai...
Mister Wheaton, you've helped Geekdom feel like an actual place. Between what you do at cons like PAX and what you've helped create with W00tstock (I went to the Seattle show!) you really make us feel like there are places we belong, even if it's only for a little while and we have to build it ourselves. And on a more minor note, reading your blog helps inspire me to write mine on a more regular basis. (Oh, and I had a dream the other night that you and I were hanging out at my parent's house and I was alternating between shamelessly flirting and going "OMG OMG OMG WIL WHEATON!" which was probably why you seemed rather confused. But that's not important right now.)
I think it's fair to say that Self Doubt and Prove To Everyone have been burned to ashes by the sheer power of your Awesome.
excerpted from Just A Geek: a sort of homecoming
As I said in my last post, I'm really excited for all of the events on my schedule at the Phoenix Comicon this weekend, especially the TNG panel, because I get to share the stage with Jonathan and LeVar. Even though I talk to LeVar fairly often, we've never spoken together at a con. Though I've ...
