It dropped for me right after you said 'Cat Shit' so I assumed that was the magic word of the day for ustream. But once it came back up no issues. I watched the number of viewers on the bottom hover around 1500 going up or down by 20 or so every few seconds.
Watch about a stupid live tour of my messy office, and hear me tell you a story.
I made a stupid cellphone video that was actually a live stream tour on my Ustream channel of my messy office. Then I read a short story. Yaaaaay! The stream was broken once when Paul called me (way to steal focus, Paul!), so there are two videos: If you watched it (live or recorded, pleas...
Well said Wil.
First played with Apple computers in the late 70s/early 80s, neighbors were teachers and had a II at home, they let us kids play Miner 2049 and Lode Runner to no end. Used a 128k Mac to help lay out the school newspaper in graphic arts and journalism class, MacPaint was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed.
His return to right the Apple ship in 1997 not only helped bring about USB but color to a world of beige. That concept took root outside of technology (and in part because of Johnathan Ive's designs but not without Steve's drive) and you can get even the most mundane of household items in colors other than 'white' or 'beige'.
I work on PCs for a living but without Apple's influence on me I would not have grasped technology like I do. I too feel like I've lost a family member. Thank you Steve.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intu...
Oh, and I love the labels and names you've been coming up with.
Notes on the making of my Polymorph Porter
Monday night, I opened a bottle of the first porter I brewed. I took a picture for the Internets that looks something like this: (click image to embiggen at Imgur) It turned out much better than I expected, considering there was a near disaster when I brewed it. Read on if you want to hear a s...
Just talking with coworkers about how it is pretty hard to completely screw up a home brew as long as it doesn't get contaminated. Coworker grew some Cascade and Centennial hops this year and brought some in this morning, not as hoppy as he wanted but next year they should produce better. Still really cool to crush some fresh off the vine hops and enjoy that scent. He is throwing them in an IPA he's making now anyway, just to see what happens. I look forward to trying some 1 gallon brewing soon.

Glad you will be back in PDX, still pending confirmation on a background role for it and it would give me great nerdy joy if I did, even if it isn't in a related scene. That set is fun and enjoyable even for the extras IMO.
I've never been so grateful to be so exhausted.
"How are you feeling?" The question sounded like it had been asked by a person standing at the other end of an aluminum tube, possibly while underwater. "I can taste sound, and I can hear color," I said, only partially joking. "Can someone please turn down the sky?" It was just before 8 in the m...
Awesome! And perfect for International Beer Day!
in which my son and i bottle our beer
I walked down the hallway toward the guest room, and started talking before I got to the door. "Hey, I just looked at my calendar, and I miscalculated when we should bottle our beer." I stepped off the wood floor of the hallway and onto the soft carpet we just had installed. I involuntarily squi...
If you end up in PDX for another round of Chaos you should check out some of the local shops here for supplies, get some fresh hops and such - http://www.mainbrew.com/ is a great shop. Now that I have a garage I am looking forward to starting homebrewing as well, several coworkers brew and make some great beer.
an update on the wheaton and son homebrewing experience
Today, Ryan and I racked (that's fancy homebrew language for "moved") our beer from its primary fermentation into its secondary fermentation. We know now that we probably moved it a little early, but since we're learning and everything, we'll just chalk it up to experience and hope for the best....
It is a good goal to have, I've been working on a robot a day and have done 172 consecutive days worth so far. It really has helped me to make time each day for creativity and it has made me more productive. My inspiration was Noah Scalin and his Skull-a-Day (plus he has a new book 365: A Daily Creativity Journal.
knock me your lobes
I have begun a new project, which until I come up with a better name is called Project Do Something Creative Every Day For The Rest Of The Year (Yes, This Includes Holidays). The first entry in PDSCEDFTROTY (YTIH) is a new episode of my neglected and long-overdue-for-updating podcast, Radio Free...
From the look on that kitten's face I am betting some scientists experienced a painful death or at a minimum traumatic claw injuries once it was free of that contraption.
science ... SCIENCE!

Cool flooring! And cool you'll be here in PDX. Hoping to get a call for extra work but I know that's hit and miss depending on the ep they are filming.
nobody can see in our holler tree
Tomorrow morning, I leave for Portland, where I'll spend an all-too-brief week working on Leverage. For those of you who don't know, I'm a recurring character on Leverage. I play a computer hacker called Cha0s, who is a nemesis to the Leverage team, but especially to Hardison. I first played th...
