The Heat's defense is like night and day when Haslem is in the lineup. When the other team sees Beasley on the floor, they immediately look to abuse him on defense. Posted by: I-Win | January 27, 2010 at 08:05 PM Yea the Defense is crap with Haslem. I-Win you need glasses man
William it was Posey who contained Dirk not UD. Your mixing up your fantasies with reality again.
The HUGE difference is Shaq was double teamed letting Wade go off and do his thing.
I know you guys like to hate on Spo, but I think you have to give him his due when it comes to Beasley's constant improvement every week. Last year all we heard was "the Bulls threw Rose out there and look at him now". Yes.... look at him now. The Bulls lost Gordon who opening the spacing for Rose to attack the paint with his speed.
"Ira on WQAM saying it is Wade wanting to win games and a playoff spot that is stunting Beasley's growth... Posted by: 9/11 was an inside job | November 24, 2009 at 05: =================== I reported that earlier today.." is this true? Did anyone else hear Ira basically say its all Wade not Spo that keeps Beasley out of games?
You can't stop supporting the Heat because of a Beasley trade. Heat culture = Haslem. According to Spo, playing without Haslem is playing without our "identity." Trading Haslem then is tantamount to trading our "identity." We won a championship with the Identity of Shaq/Walker/Jwill. The Heat culture got us killed by the Knicks playoff after playoff. Tallent not hustle and grit wins
Haslem is no starter and in no way should be playing more mins than Beasley in a developmental year. If Beasley was playing like ass i could understand but the guy was playing great. Just trade Beasley if Haslem is so important to Wade/Spo whoever.
"Antonie Walker was the second highest scoring player in the finals. With out Walker Pat has no ring and he was a starter on a championship team. Where is he now, puts Haslem role in perspective." flash, Walker was also alot older than Haslem and had bad knees...he was on his last legs of a good career. Basically Shaq was still so dominate that he help mask Jwill and Walker on the defensive end and helped mask Haslem on the offensive side. Haslem is no starter, no team this offseason will look at him as a starter. As a bench player hes great. ideally he would be great next to Howard or any other dominate center.
"Udonis Haslem has been there and done that. As the power forward on the 2006 Heat Championship squad, Haslem was producing and making plays on a stage where many great players succumbed to the pressure. There were put-backs, jumpshots and rebounds that were crucial to that squads Finals wins. Without Haslem there probably would not have been Riley’s prophesized parade down Biscayne Boulevard. And tonight, coming back from a strained shoulder, Haslem again showed the composure of a champion as he, along with Dwyane Wade, lifted the Miami Heat from yet another potentially disappointing loss." Antonie Walker was the second highest scoring player in the finals. With out Walker Pat has no ring and he was a starter on a championship team. Where is he now, puts Haslem role in perspective.
Pat wanted Kaman but was talked out of it and went with Wade.
Haslem lead the 07/08 team straight into the lottery. So much for that hustle and grit defense is everything mentality when you cant score a bucket to save your life
Haslem as a captain has lead the Heat to the lottery in the 07/08 season. So much for that so called hustle and grit when you cant score unless your spoon fed buckets by Wade.
Whats the point of getting Joe Johnson if were not going to change the play calling for SF? Spend the max so Joe can stay camped out at the 3pt line?
"People are complaining about Haslem playing longer minutes than Michael Be4asley but 82games.com showed the opposite. Of the team's total minutes, Beasley has 62% of it while Haslem has 59% only. Then how come the fanatics are still bytching about Beasley's minutes in relation to Udonis. The fact is that the fanatics are totally wrong in blaming Spo for playing Haslem more." Only you could miss the point William. Haslem has gotten more mins at PF than Beasley.

Do you really think it's coincidence that every time Haslem gets injured, Beasley looks like a 20/10 PF. Dont say that, the Haslems lovers will start to cry
".. If he were too soft to rebound, he wouldn't grab 9 in a game." A game. Singular. In 11 games he's had one 0 rebound game, four 3 rebound games, and two 4 rebound games. Posted by: eddieomaha | November 19, 2009 at 02:16 PM Is it a lack of focus? The Heat system wants the SF camped out at the 3pt line. Kinda hard to rebounds like that. When Beasley plays at his natural position he does more than ok
"It's because there are bloggers here who contend that Wade is insecure of Michael Beasley's scoring prowess." LOL its more like its bloggers scared that Haslem is exposed as a scrub that he is.
Beasley was the best player on the Heat last night. Something Haslem could never be without Wade spoon feeding him open shots.
Beasley was the best player today on the Heat. Wade really let Beasley down :( Maybe Wade is scared that Beasley is better than him when Spo plays him at PF :)
So are all the Haslem lovers going to man up and say Beasley sign handedly kept the Heat in the game?
Bosh will never sign to play Center, that is so retarded to think he will on so many levels. The role of a SF on the heat is to stay camped out at the 3pt line. If we cant change that to take advantage of Beasley offensive skills what makes anyone think that would magically change if we got Lebron?
"When Beasley plays great Spo benches him, when he plays like a scrub with hustle and grit he gets playing time." Right. Because he didn't drop 24 on Cleveland and play 38 minutes. When Qrich got hurt taking a stupid charge and Haslem in foul trouble thats the only reason Beasley played. Had UD not had foul trouble Spo would have benched Beasley in a heart beat

Last night has to be the funniest saddest thing to happen to Beasley. When Beasley plays great Spo benches him, when he plays like a scrub with hustle and grit he gets playing time. Talk about a retarded coach.

Haslem played like a scrub last night. It was pathetic seeing Spo try to spoon feed him shots in the 4th only to have him miss ever thing or be scared to shoot. He played pathetic.
