If you think the CD is fun, you should try a Music Together class with your baby. My husband and I took my son from about 2 1/2 to 5 years old and my daughter from the time she was in my womb until she was about 3. We all enjoyed the classes so much and I don't think it's a coincidence that my daughter sings to herself and us all day!
Fussworthy Tunes: Music Together Family Favorites
"Hello to Leighton. So glad to see you." We can't stop singing it. We add Luella, Mommy and Daddy to the mix and it's more than our baby can handle - she grins and drools and it's so much fun. Family Favorites™ has 19 fun and wholesome songs drawn from the Music Together® library of nine al...
My 4-year old daughter takes bites out of the butter in the refrigerator. She and the Peanut would get along great...or fight over the butter, not sure which. :-)
The Genetics of Butter and Comedy
My mother was a premature health nazi during an era when it was believed that smoking cigarettes was good for you, fried chicken was the 6th food group, and Twinkies improved blood circulation. Of course, I'm abundantly grateful to my wonderful mother for leading me down a path of healthy living...
I need one of those. I hope CostCo does one of their VitaMix events soon. They're definitely the best.
Variations on a Theme: Green Smoothies
A previous post on green smoothies generated quite a bit of interest. We have continued to whip them up in our vitamix blender, but it's easy--at least for us--to get into food ruts. So when I found this list of variations on the green smoothie theme on a list serve, I did a quick cut-and-paste...
I broke my blender making pink smoothies (soy milk and frozen strawberries), maybe green ones will be kinder to the stick blender I just bought?

What a loss! The eps she appeared (across the whole ST family of shows) were always so much fun.
a moment of silence, please.
Majel Barrett Roddenberry died yesterday. She was a hell of a lady, who loved Star Trek and Star Trek fans like no other. Some knew her as the original Number One, some knew her as Lwaxana Troi, and everyone knew her as the ship's computer, but I just knew her as Majel, my friend Rod's mom, who ...

Lithuanian Artist Tomas Karkalas Stirs Up the Sky
Here's new and beautiful work by Tomas Karkalas.
Great song Marcia! Happy Birthday Robin! Hope you have a wonderful day despite the storm aftermath.
Happy Birthday, Other Mother!
This is you-know-who wishing the other you-know-who a very happy birthday (for those of you out of the loop, Robin was born 46 years ago on September 22nd in Memphis, TN). A few weeks ago I began brainstorming what to do for Robin’s birthday. Soap, socks, some flowerpots? Was there anything I ...
I'm named after my paternal grandmother Frances and my maternal great-grandmother Sepe. My son's middle name (Scott-Wilson, yes, with the hyphen) is my father's name and my daughter's middle name (Florentina) is my husband's mother's name.
Question of the Day: Names
This question is a double-header. Are you named after anyone AND (if applicable) are your children named after someone?
It's not fair that I'm thousands of miles away in Hawaii. All your creations sound and look amazing.
Chocolat Desir today at Lulu's
After a brief moment of (unintentional) pause we're back at Lulu's. Today you can find our Chocolat Désir, the mini pyramid chocolate cakes made with dark Valrhona chocolate--but then again you already knew that, didn't you? See you soon!
I hope you bought that little copper mold! So adorable.
another from the market
How sweet! I love how she uses the word intolerable in that last sentence.
Pen Pals
I mentioned a few weeks ago that Pearl's best friend was moving away. Today we heard from him (with his mom's help, of course) for the first time. Hello Pearl, I love you, I miss you. I have a lightsaber already. how is the school going? what are you playing in the playground? I am sti...
Happy Birthday Pearl! (my baby, Gigi is going to be 3 in May and I can't believe it either)
Pearl Turns Four!
Can you believe it? I guess with that question, I'm mostly talking to myself. I can hardly believe it. Today is Pearl's 4th birthday. So far (8:45 a.m.) she's having a wonderful day. Nana and Papa made a major detour en route between Florida and Virginia and are here to celebrate with us....
Happy Birthday Marcia! and Happy Valentine's Day to everyone in Grrrltown!
Some/thing Borrowed
When you love someone, it never seems quite real. You wonder if she'll be there, even though she's proven that she will. You feel the truth of the phrase "living on borrowed time," as though she can't possibly be there permanently or on her own volition. And yet she is there. 10 day, 10 mo...
