You made some good points in this post, thanks. One of the things that makes a blog IMO is the feedback you can get from the readers when they write comments. Without the sense of community and two-way communication, a blog is essentially a journal. My favorite blogs are one in which the reader gets a sense that they are reading an on-going conversation and feel compelled to put in their two cents by adding to the discussion.
