Wow, Jen, I seriously needed this encouragement today. Feeling utterly overwhelmed...and wondering if any of this makes any difference to anyone. One of those "why do I bother???" days. Ugh. Huge thanks for your kind words!!

So great - love your beautiful description of Ashley More-than-just-a-mom! And yes, I couldn't agree more - being a mom is definitely a superpower. =)

Love the idea of being 'a radiant ruby when you come out from under His pressure.' Learning to trust in the process, and allow God to do the transforming!!!
Oh my gosh, Andrea, I hear ya. Can't imagine what deconstruction I'll be in when Nekoda is about to graduate from high school - yikes!
Thanks, Thesa. Things are comin' together!!

practicing...always practicing...
Thanks, Kelley. You've probably heard way too much of my soapboxing on the painful difference between the tenses of 'perfect'...

I love this song! Haven't heard it in years - but it's one that used to bring me comfort. Thanks so much, Greg.

You are SUCH a brave, obedient woman, my friend. Putting your heart out there every few months - as your birth another generous-art canvas of your soul.

So glad you're getting the chance to work with James & Mark! I love collaboration - the best way to move from 'dream' to reality, no doubt.

I love autumn. But... Fall is usually a crappy time of year around the Miller house. Outside, the world gets golden & glorious, but inside, Mommy gets crabby & contentious. Which of course makes the whole family grumpy... Technically, autumn refers to a time of harvest, the golden season where farmers reap the rewards of a year of hard work. Most people think of fall and autumn as the same thing, but I don't. I love autumn. And not just 'cause I have my own amazing Autumn 17-year-old daughter. Autumn in the mountains of Colorado is ablaze with shimmering yellows,... Continue reading

The room is packed. About 995 women & men mill around in front of me, squeezing into the narrow rows of theatre-style seats. A cacophony of voices rolls pleasantly through the balconied lecture hall here at Belmont University. Smiles everywhere, and an air of expectancy, as we all look forward to soaking up Donald Miller's Storyline conference. The doors have only been open for 10 minutes, and already the cushioned seats are stacked with bodies and purses and notebooks. Deep breath. Swallow back insecurity. Wish desperately for Kevin to be with me. Step forward anyway. "Hello; hi...'scuse me...is this seat... Continue reading

Just so no one has a heart-attack...no, I'm not actually pregnant. But in a way - I'm kinda pregnant. After growing seven babies in my belly, you'd think I'd be plenty weary of pregnancy. I'm no spring chicken either; at 43-ish my body is past the birthing years & cresting the mid-life-crisis hump. And yet, over the past year or so, I keep thinking, and wishing for, and dreaming I'm pregnant. To help God grow a new life...is just, well, beyond words. But of course, since this is a blog & all, I'll try to think of a few: Ummm,... Continue reading
