Thank you Annie, I really want to be well even though taking the meds the Dr prescribed has made me feel worse but at least I can say I tried them but I wouldnt take antidepressants again, they certainly didnt help.
I had one lesson of meditation and has such a profound experience that I am going to keep doing it, as she talked me through it in my minds eye I could see lilac air going into my nose and the pain (in mywristsespecially) became blurred yet morefocusedin the actual joint rather than radiating out. I also started to cry and found it reallymoving, which surprised me as I rather pragmatic usually.
The last few weeks I have got worse and am nodding off at 8pm or even during the day and wonder if the Dr will add ME/CFS to his diagnosis.
Hope you have got over your run of illness at the turn of the year. My crochet offer still stands, youd have it cracked in no time

Missing
I have been missing my blog but my motivation seems to be missing too! Late last year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and had to take some medication which made me feel ill. I persevered as I was told it would make me feel less exhausted, it didn't and during February I started falling asleep ...
Am trying to regain a bit of my va va voom but it seems long gone! The crafternoon teas are such a delight, so many lovely crafty ladies enjoyingthemselveswith heaps of cake -perfect!

It does seem to be a permanent condition, though Im not sure he is quite on the button with the diagnosis, and there seems to be a bit of oh yes she is female and middle aged so we will say its fibro about it. Though as I reach the middle of my 40s I think middle age must surely be when I am over 50!
Am enjoying seeing your basket work creations - Mrs Multitalented!

Thank you, my little business is my pride and joy a bit like another child! I have scaled back the number of workshops to two a week though and am looking at doing more with my kits as I need to regroup and recover. I didnt feel this bad looking after a newborn with no sleep!

Snuggly Scarf
Thanks to My Little Helper for taking the photo I think it was Chipper Nelly who posted the link to this simple scarf. Just the right size for filling that little gap at the top of your coat and for keeping your neck nice and warm. I'd had a little trip over to Black Sheep where I had found s...
Congratulations Jane, richly deserved.
A new page for Snapdragon
I am not a natural business woman. My background is largely academic - my degree was in Art History, my post grad in Museums studies and I happily immersed myself in the rather rarefied world of museum galleries until I decided one morning that it just wasn't what I wanted to spend my life doing...
Blogging really documents our lives and the passage of time, that's one of the reasons I love it. But it's poignant too as the children grow and their need for us changes.
Good to see you back!
Anyone out there?
That was a long break. I took photographs this weekend on a beautiful family hike in the woods as is our Thanksgiving tradition and I was reminded once again how time flies. That was then, 5 years ago, when I started blogging. Just look at them now. *sigh*.
Brilliant photos! We will celebrate our 25th anniversay soon, as you say - where does the time go? I knitted an aran jumper in the 80s with my Mum, I did the cuffs she did the rest! xx
time flies
I've been sitting here, in the quiet of the early afternoon, with my cup of coffee, sewing up bunny heads and pondering just how it can be 28 years since these two young people went out on their first ever date and yet yesterday their oldest child became a teenager. Doesn't time whizz...
I was nodding to myself while reading your post as I do exactly the same class, it is so satisfying to get people up and running with their machines and they leave smiling. I've taught two classes so far this week.
I teach in my own studio at the bottom of the garden and I use a local art cafe too. They advertise the classes and I teach in their premises during the evening and we split the money.
I also teach patchwork, quilting, knitting, crochet - while not a formally qualified teacher I base my lesson plans on teaching skills via a specific project so all my customers have something lovely to take home - I love it!
Diversify Your Income Stream: Teach People to Use Their Sewing Machines
I'm teaching a Get To Know Your Sewing Machine class next Thursday, October 11, from 9:30-noon at Sew Easy in Wellesley, MA (if you live in the Boston area and would like to register you can do so on the Sew Easy website). Sew Easy is a locally owned sewing center for kids, and I teach their ...
Looks like the perfect picnic spot to me.
Misty update
I was going to show you a picture of the misty afghan now that it has 96 squares (12 x 8). I spread it out neatly ready to take a photo but when I came back from getting the camera (which it seems is never where I think I have left it) someone had decided it looked like a good place for a picnic...
Oh the foxes are so sweet!
I love pottering on my allotment, though it doesn't happen often enough so I am best at growing weeds!
a give-away
Well, the animals are now fully armed (though not dangerous in the least little bit) and they have their tails and buttons attached in the appropriate places too. So to celebrate the start of my 7th year of blogging I'm going to give one of them away. To enter just leave a comment below. A...
I find if I call chilli/curry type things 'stew' the fussy blighters are more likely to eat it.
I also roll leftover chilli etc up in a puff pastry bundle and call it savoury slice which might not please you No 3 but is great for using up leftovers.

It happens every once is a while... I get sooo bored of cooking the same food, sooo bored of eating the same food. Bored of shopping for the same food even. So when it happens, out come the recipe books and the conflict management manuals (the boys are not adventurous eaters and the dinner tabl...

Summer was not how I had hoped it would be. The last 8 weeks have been a blur of tears and fear and hope and more fear. We're all still here, but life is not what it should be for any of us. We're grateful for it though. We're grateful for any time there is. I want to come back here, but th...
We have had some brilliant winter holidays up there, one Christmas there was ice on the beach which looked amazing.
And who can resist Barter Books!
I love holidays!!!
I've taken a slightly longer break than planned from blogging - but I'm back! The last week of term was crazy busy, and time ran away with me. I don't know why everything seems to happen at once. I did decorate for Easter, but forgot to take any photos but looks pretty much the same as last year...

You'll be peeling in your sleep after preparing so many apples! I made an apple cake today with some windfalls from the garden, a lovely taste of autumn.
Fall
Not much sign of any autumnal weather here yet (I'm in no rush) but we marked the beginning of fall with an apple picking trip today. 32lbs of apples (a mix of Courtland, McIntosh and Spartan) ready for some sauce making. I'm also canning tomatoes again this week - I'm lookin...
