Wow that's a great point. I hadn't given it any thought at all - but just took a look. The script is mute on the subject (both the final and the first version). From JC's wiki: "The Clan Leader (Na'vi name: Olo'eyktan) is the most important member of a clan and is similar to a chieftain. The leader is in charge of the clan, and rules along with his or her mate. He or she often passes the leadership privileges on by handing the successor his or her bow. The female leader is usually called the Tsahìk." It says "his or her" but also says the female leader is usually called the Tsahik. Neytiri is a warrior but will be the next Tsahik. It's hard to know if she is a widowed Tsahik (or if her husband is merely away at the time of Jake & Neytiri's visit) or if she's Olo'eyktan in her own right. Do you have pointers that make it lean in either particular direction? This is a GREAT point!

wow Stardog, that's a new perspective! I like that ;P But ... if she didn't mate with Tsu'Tey she couldn't become the next Tsahik. In the script when she admits to sleeping with Jake Mo'at tells her she's forfeiting her position as Tsahik. Do you think she would have done that without the incentive of Jake?

You guys are great! I was thinking it was a joke post until I read your comments ... realizing you saw the same mistakes I did! A couple of them are pretty big ... um ... destruction of Ayva Trayeramunan? That would have pretty much ended things, wouldn't it? And according to the script, Grace was there when the killing happened at her school. The writing in general is stiff and in some weird way belittling. Tell me they couldn't have found an Avatar fan to write that properly?

I often wonder what she was thinking during this moment. Tsu'Tey, Neytiri and Jake have taken off to call the other clans to come fight. She's watching them go. No doubt some of it's just the fire of the moment, but some of it's also probably musing about him turning out to be Taruk Makto. She and Neytiri both followed the signs one by one, trusting Eywa and not really knowing what the overall meaning was. At this point she sees unfolding a much larger plan than her imagination probably allowed. She's probably wondering at the intricacy of all the things that needed to happen to make this moment of tremendous hope possible.

I feel like I don't have to ask - I'm sure you're continuing on. Do you have to pay to go to University? (you do here-unbelievably huge amounts of money that can take 10 years to repay)
