Hi Maureen, I normally freeze them with the icing and nonpareils. They do get a bit more sticky when they defrost and the nonpareils will melt a bit, but they still taste great. Sometimes if I don't have time to frost them, I'll freeze them without the frosting. I would say, preference and time. Trish
