Isn't the toughest obstacle that such radical Islamophobes actually face not convincing people that a majority of Muslims _desire_ to conquer the Western world, or convincing people that the Muslims _have the power_ to conquer the Western world, but rather countering the view that destroying Islam is too high a price to pay to preserve Western civilization. Islam is the most tenacious belief system in history - more so than Christianity and _far_ more so than any secular political ideology. The only way territories (eg Iberia, much of the Balkans, Israel) have been de-Islamized is by ethnically cleansing their Muslim populations. This implies that to destroy Islam you'd have to genocide a fifth of the world's population. Now I can't read rhetoric advocating the destruction of Islam without recoiling in horror to thoughts of "better dhimmi than génocidaire". I only hope they don't nuke a Western city and frame Muslims for it - that's probably what they'd have to do to get what they want (as use of a nuke against a city would be interpreted as a signal of genocidal intent, and therefore shortcircuit the objection mentioned above).

Aren't corrupt politicians on the make via the second-home racket, buy-to-let parasites, and "my house is my pension" types (basically all the people who have a vested interest in keeping house prices high) the real culprits, as people who cannot get affordable housing are most susceptible to the BNP's scapegoating of immigrants?

Something I've been wondering - how likely is it that Israel would respond to demographic trends by expelling or exterminating the Palestinians, and then thumbing its nose at the world, hiding behind its nuclear arsenal a la North Korea?
