Another cool thing going on in Portland: The Oregon Historical Society has an exhibit on Will Vinton's Claymation Studio and a 3D retrospective curated by the 3D Center for Art and Photography. Haven't seen them yet but the 3D exhibit was put together by a friend of mine and reports are that it's very good.

OMG Powell's! A mandatory stop on my frequent trips to Portland. Here is a little known must see while in Portland. It's called the 3D Center for Art and Photography 1928 NW Lovejoy Street http://www.3dcenter.us/ Cool stuff!

Of course it's the opposite here. We have had a beautiful spring that has been more of an early summer. You are heading to hibernation and I am out playing. Unfortunately the salt mines beckon to me also tomorrow, which is hard when it's nice out. Have a great week too!
Happy Birthday to you and Tonka! I'm off to Alaska myself, tomorrow, but tt won't be quite the Senic Boy's type adventure, though I hope the zipline excursion in Ketchican will be close.

Sadly Bush's longest lasting legacy will be what he's done to the Supreme Court. Forget the Constitution, lets go by fundamentalist doctrine. Sort of like we're supposedly fighting in the Middle East. Reproductive rights? Gay Marriage? Those issues are in grave danger.

Damn that would be a great episode! I always thought there should be a DS9 movie, but then they had to kill Jadzia Dax, and it wouldn't be the same.

I lost my scruples about poison when I ran into one of those creatures in my living room. Electric traps work quite well though and are fairly humane. As for parting with things, I cannot for the life of me get rid of a book. I might want to read it again some day. If I can find it in all the boxes.

I hate you. Not as much as Minnesota hates you, but it's a 45 degrees and raining type of hate you. I was in Florida two weeks ago and it was 45 degrees and raining. Life is not fair.

I tried to see the comet yesterday, but got stuck in traffic. It had set by the time we got to a clear spot. This being the Pacific Northwest, today the clouds moved in and probably won't go away till after it's gone. I agree. Dammit.

Wait till you hit 50. Then the exercise hurts. I look at pictures of myself at 33 and wish I was in that shape again. As a former Floridian, I feel your pain about inclement weather. As a current Pacific Northwesterner with snow coming down as I write: Get the hell outside and walk. ;-p

Wil, I signed up for Typepad myself because I didn't have time to rebuild my website after its demise from a provider change. It gives me what I need and little maintenance. Now as for houses and insurance, I fared better with my house than with my car. Someone hit my car while parked on the street and my agent told me it would be cheaper to pay for it myself than file a claim and have them raise my rates. There is something intrinsically wrong with this. I fared better when my partner caught the deck on fire, but I'm not done with the claim for that little incident yet.
