picking May flowers in Family Reunion dress
You know how sometimes you fall in love with a pattern that's fun to sew and looks perfect when it's finished? Family Reunion Dress by Oliver & S was definitely one of these magic patterns for me: as soon as I sewed the last button and saw it on Rebecca, I immediately decided to make another...

Just have to say that your Holiday away looked lovely and relaxing! Fab photos too!
leafy green
Here is some leafy green goodness from our holiday as an antidote for the cold rainy weather here. Looking at those leafy scenes from the island are nearly enough to warm me up, but I think the heater is also in order. I made a couple of things for today's shop update from some Japanese le...

What a awesome idea! Very cute indeed and practical too!
wrap around for autumn
This is a wraparound cardigan I made for Keira when the autumn chill started creeping in last week. It's made from two old cardigans of mine, but I think they're much nicer like this. I used a chocolate-brown one for the sleeves and one front and a charcoal grey for the remaining pieces. And...
I have to say that I'm really hooked on this stitching thing ~ it's a good hobby to have while chilling out watching TV at night! Thanks for popping in Joanna!!!
inspiration
I've been inspired by some lovely "creative" books with alot of "William Morris" type designs . . . . so hence my being in the "creative zone" and stitching up of different creative pieces. To be honest I've got so many pieces that I've experimented with that I really have to get onto sewing...

Your winter photos are just magical! I've heard about the extreme cold weather you are getting over there at the moment ~ hope you are keeping warm!!! It seems strange looking at those photos as we are going through a hot spell on this side of the world.
an olive bough
Several trees in our valley fell or lost some limbs during the heavy snowfalls and strong winds of the past few days. Sadly, many were olive trees. For days, I looked out the window at Tom's olive tree - almost entirely buried in snow - and worried that its young trunk would be too slender t...
The book looks charming ~ it looks like one similar to some that I've been given recently ~ just LOVE the illustrations!!!!
botanicals
One good thing about moving and packing is discovering old treasures again, like books for example. When I was hastily packing dusty books into cardboard boxes last month, I came across my copy of The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden. I did some botanical-type embroide...
Welcome Francesca and thanks for popping in ~ I have to say that I was intrigued by your Squid Risotto ~ very unusual combination indeed but sure it would be yum for those who like that kinda of thing! :-)

an old house
Hello and happy new year! Here are a few bits of our new house in the capital city. We are living in one of the inner-city suburbs, but we are lucky enough to have a big old house (I think almost 100 years old) with a flat garden out the back for the kids to play in. We've been here fo...
