One can never have too many granola recipes, and I've always needed a cupcake recipe like that!
Your last post is so fitting - and it reminds me that I've been meaning to get a bottle of St. Germain. Now that Whole30 is over, I have no excuse! I'll miss your posts, Katie!

I MUST make those brownies, omg.

Entryway Storage Problem Solved! (and a Sad Goodbye)
By Sara Wow. So this is it, friends. Our last week of posting (for now). It has been a pleasure to see you here every week for the past few years, and I'm really going to miss you. Before I say goodbye, I wanted to share something I've finally checked off my To Do List. Let me take you back to 2...

I remember that post about Norway, and I loved reading it. This one is pretty great, too. I don't think I've ever made fettucine alfredo - this makes me want to try!
I will miss it here, and miss your posts.

I'm so glad that She Likes Purple isn't going anywhere.
Love you, lady. XOXOXOXO
A Few Hard Goodbyes
I have a couple hard announcements for you today, and you can read about them officially at Style Lush and Food Lush. Last year was a year of many questions. Some of those were: Was I doing too much? Would I ever find the time to do more? Should I step up? Or step back? Should I just give up sl...
I have so loved writing here and being part of this community. I've met so many wonderful people, and was happily surprised to connect with others I already knew over food.
Thank you, Jennie, for creating these sites and inviting us all along. The sites may be over as we know them, but the friendships and memories created here are not. And I love that they'll live on for people to search and enjoy. I'm proud of you for making a hard but necessary decision, and remember: Always better to end things when they're still bittersweet. Love you, lady!
A Hard Goodbye
By Jennie Food Lush was created over two years ago, as a spin-off to Style Lush. We thought food deserved its own space and we sure filled this space with some delicious dishes, didn't we? What I have always loved most about Food Lush is that the food feels real. It's not too fancy, and it's mad...

Quick and Easy Carrot Soup
Editor's note: A quick but very warm welcome to Hillary, a Style Lush writer who will be sharing her delicious recipes and food finds with Food Lush every other week. She's one of the best, as you'll soon see! *** By Hillary January means trying to undo weeks of indulgent eating (at least in our...

I've always wondered why my French lentils don't seem to turn out magically like the best french lentils I've had. I cannot wait to try this when Whole30 is done!
While we're on the subject: I did once learn that if you don't want your (regular, not necessarily green) lentils to pop when cooking, sautee them before putting them in your soup (or whatever). I wonder if the two minute boil is kind of the same theory.
Dorie Greenspan's lentils
by Katie As a New Year's resolution of sorts, I have decided to try to resist buying new cookbooks in 2013. That does not stop me from checking them out of the library, and my first library acquisition of the year was Dorie Greenspan's Around My French Table. This book is huge, and gorgeous, and...

I love that you do the 12 grapes at midnight! I first learned about it when I was studying abroad in Spain in college, and I've been doing it ever since. Theories vary on what it stands for - one for each month of the new year, one for each stroke of the clock. Plus a bunch of other things I can't remember. But I love it!
We've had fairly quiet New Year's celebrations the past few years, too. I like doing a lot of appetizers and just sitting around drinking bubbly and watching movies until the ball drops. One year we had fancy apps with some friends (prosciutto wrapped asparagus, shrimp cocktail, fancy cheese plate), and then ordered Chinese.
Foods to Welcome the New Year
By Tara C. In the melee leading up to Christmas, I feel like New Year's festivities are sometimes overlooked. And it's too bad--New Year's Eve seems like a great opportunity to bring out our fanciest food and drinks. It's a time to reflect upon and celebrate the past year and welcome a new on...
My Mom has always had Byers Choice carolers, and usually adds one to her collection every year via a gift from my Dad (or lately, via me). I love those Carolers and had fun picking them out with my Dad when I was little. When I was in college, my parents decided I should have some of my own, so they started giving me a piece from the Byers Choice Christmas Carol collection every year. Last year I got the last piece, so I'm not sure what to expect this year, but I love, love, love this as it brings a piece of my childhood Christmas to my home every year.
Christmas Collections: Do You Have One?
by Elizabeth A few years ago, I bought myself a silver tree when Target first rolled out their Christmas decorations for the year. The year after that, I wanted another one, so I decided I would collect silver trees at Christmas time. This year there weren't any silver ones at Target I liked, bu...

My Favorite Cookie Swap Contribution AND Reader Help: Roll-out Cookies

Citrus Champagne Punch: The Perfect Holiday Cocktail
By Erica H. Last night was my moms group's annual cookie exchange, which was delightful in a cookie-sense but dare I say revolutionary in the beverage-accompaniment-sense. (I definitely dare! What are you going to do, COMMENT AT ME? I'd like to see you try!) Ahem, as I was saying. Cookies are gr...
Katia, this is kind of my fear. We rarely deep-fry anything - maybe calamari once a year and wings once a year. Honestly, I'm not even sure we will get to it. We shall see. But at least it's fun to hang on to the memories!
Local Food Souvenirs
by Caitlin I'm not a huge fan of...stuff. Of totchkes, of buying useless junk for the sake of getting someone a gift. Quick detour before we even get started! Speaking of gifts, allow me to remind you to check out the Food Lush Gift Guide, where I really try not to include any junk, either. Did ...
My husband loves it and makes a point to buy it once a season. He can't do a lot of dairy so he might have a little for a few nights, or have one big glass and be done. But he has to have it. I, on the other hand, cannot abide the nog. Bailey's in coffee? That's a different story.
The Great Egg Nog Debate
By Nora I find that there are many food controversies out there, especially related to holiday food. Pumpkin or pecan pie? Should fruitcake be considered a cake? (NO. it should not even be considered.) Is it okay to cook the stuffing in the turkey? And then there's nog. People seem VERY divided ...
