I'm not a hasid, but I was a New Square supporter I even spent a weekend in New Square and participated in rabbis Tishen. I most say it's a lovely community and the rabbi is considered by many a very smart person. When I first read about this incident I made a few phone calls to people I know in New Square. Most of them told me the same thing, Mr. Rottenberg is a troubled individual, troubled family etc. When I asked why he deserved being burnt they did not know what to say. One person that the rabbi told his sons that Se'tit Ehm Vai (he's pained) that these outcasts pray outside of the village and this young kid (Spitzer) took it to heart too far. I also received youtube clips of demonstrations in New Square against these outcasts, which proves that this was an ongoing issue. I must say I'm very disappointed by their reaction, or rather inaction by the leadership in New Square
