I just LOVE my little willi-pino Xmas present. but i do miss the lil guy and his gaysol use of the english.
Plus, he has a friend in tito, who should not be mistaken for tITO (er, Tito), who now plays PF for us - when he is not playing SF to get Haslem his minutes.
What did Mr. Irrelevant get? Oh yeah. Who cares . . . (could have been a Gallinari doll or something - Maybe a Marcin Gortat poster???).
ASK IRA: Does Spo' need to defend Dwyane?
Q: Was it necessary for Coach Spo' to defend Wade from Jeff Van Gundy's comments on his star, which, for the most part, were true? On every game I watch, he really does get back late, most of the time complaining about a non-call? -- Ryan. A: There has been plenty of feedback on that piece. Here...

The Dorell effect: Essential impact
To say the Heat's rotation remains in flux would be understatement. Dorell Wright's profile has not been higher in years.Daequan Cook's status has not been as uncertain since his arrival in the 2007 draft. James Jones has started. Not played. And then played a little.Joel Anthony has played a...

ASK IRA: Can Dorell be a point guard?
Q: I just finished reading your article on Dorell. If his bench play continues like this, is it too farfetched we would see a switch at starting point guard between Wright and Chalmers? I love the way Mario plays with Dwyane not on the floor. He is much more aggressive and creative then. Also, he...

"Yes, Dorell Wright (pictured at right) looked terrific Sunday in Sacramento as a primary ballhandler. But that also was with the Kings playing back, off the ball. I'm not sold about Wright in the same situations against pressuring point guards. And after Sunday, the pressure most assuredly will come against Wright"
OF COURSE. Only Clark Kent can turn into Superman all of a sudden.

I don't know what to get of these fanatics. They don't like trolls and yet they themselves are one. On second thought, maybe they enjoyed being trolled anyway. Just guessing.

Heat 115, Kings 102
Observations from Sunday's 115-102 victory over the Sacramento Kings at Arco Arena: Dwyane Wade seemed to play with a bit more edge than usual. Don't discount the impact of those critical comments Friday night by ESPN's analysts. Dorell Wright? As the kids text: OMG. He was terrific. And credi...

ASK IRA: Why turn Beasley into a spectator?
Q: Why another short leash for Beasley against the Lakers? He was 6 of 8 and was playing Gasol with intensity. Yet only 29 minutes? -- Walter. A: You raise a valid question. It would seem you would want to build up your prospect's confidence, instead of constantly creating doubt in his mind. On ...

"I'd much rather trade for Shane Battier, but really, I'd rather keep Q-Rich."
I don't know how many of us remember Mark Blount, before he was traded from Boston to Minnesota. He was actually a decent player. He earned that new contract, based on how well he played during his contract season. QRich is in his contract season. He lost 25 pounds this summer - maybe he shouldn't have had those pounds in the first place. If no one, and I mean, no one, can believe how well he's doing right now, then it looks and smells like fool's gold. Sorry, but I don't trust QRich past this season. Maybe his playing with his buddy DWade might help, or not.

Not a bad suggestion, but there would still be controversy about the # 5 team.

The bitching keeps everyone interested. It won't ever become as interesting as March Madness though.

of the positives:
JO is the weakest. On occasion he has shown flashes of strong play. But he has also laid some pretty big eggs. I would say he is a spot contributor on offense - not reliable - but at least gives some good effort on D.
QR is the best improvement, given that we got essentially NOTHING from Blount last year - A+ for Riley.
As for Beasley. If this team were to give him real minutes at PF consistently . . .

We have beaten Orlando,Portland, split with Denver, played tough games with Boston,Lakers, and Phoenix that we could have won just as well.
We are seeded 5th in the East.
We have not played our best game yet.
Wade has been horrible.
What do you want?
What do you spect?
This team is in the "threshold of a breakthrough" as Spo says.
We have not played a quarter of the season yet and we are getting better and better.
Don't you think we can gain a higher seed before the season ends?

But we narrowly beat an absolutely crappy NJ team. There is no consistency with this team, so why should anyone have any confidence that they WILL bring it together?
When will we see some decent offensive sets?
