Better looking than you?? I don't think so :)
the obligatory post-audition reflections
The directions to my audition were simple: two freeways, one off-ramp, two left turns. In practice, finding a parking spot and making my way into the actual waiting room were slightly less complicated than getting The Babelfish (kids, ask your parents), so I actually walked into the room for my ...
Movie Wil! better than TV Wil? maybe....
in which i have an audition for a feature this afternoon
I composed a post in Firefox all about how I have this awesome audition this afternoon. Then, when I tried to publish it, Firefox hung for ten minutes before it crashed. I've been spoiled by stability, so I didn't do the ctl-c that was so pretty much automatic a few years ago... so here's the tl...
My daughter is three, and they now make a Highlights Hidden Pictures ONLY mag. which she LOVES. Some have stickers you place on the hidden pictures...
in which Highlights for Children is discussed at great length
Last night, on the way home from dinner, I asked Anne, "Do you remember Highlights for Children?" "Of course I do," she said, "I remember how I hated going to the doctor when I was a kid, until I started reading Highlights in the waiting room." "Turn right at this intersection," I said, "and Tra...
and I thought my husband had chicken legs.
The Best Chaos Elf, EVER.
Marc Roskin took this picture of me when we were filming LEVERAGE. It's sort of spoilery, I guess, but it's too hilarious not to share. I'm not sure when this episode airs, The Ho Ho Ho Job airs December 12 on TNT, and I am sure you're going to love it.
You sound happier than a pig in (jarring edit) slop. I can see the title of your next book "How Wil Got His Groove Back". Your fans of all 30 years are very proud of you.

on the finding (and not finding) of evil wil wheaton
We filmed until 330 this morning, and when I finally got home a little after 4am, it was all I could do to convince myself to wash off my makeup and go to sleep. I woke up at 1230 this afternoon in the same position I fell asleep, and I probably could have easily slept another 3 hours or more. W...
I am lovin the evil mustache/goatee thing.
The Guild: Season 4
Here's the teaser trailer for season four of The Guild:
Next week? Awesome!
this is the coolest picture you'll see all day
Well it's been a wonderfully busy week, and now it's over. I finished Big Bang Theory on Tuesday, spent much of Wednesday wishing I was still working with them, and then recorded the voice of Mr. Qubit for the IRREDEEMABLE motion comic yesterday. Since I'm too busy to write up the stuff that nee...
Wil, I can't wait for the new season and to see you in it!
Off topic: I just saw a Robot Chicken about ST:TNG where they totally rip on how the writers (and Rick F---ing Berman) couldn't figure out how to deal with Wesley's character... I was hoping it was you voicing Wesley in the skit but no..I'm a bit peeved Seth did not call you up to have you work on that.
oh yeah, this is totally +5 to sexterity
Just in case you haven't seen it ... Congratulations to Felicia, the cast of The Guild, and everyone else involved in the creation and production of the Do You Want To Date My Avatar video. Ever since I saw a rough cut of it while we were shooting season three, I knew it was going to be a h...
Wil, I bet more than 3 girl creatures threw them selves at you at Pax this year alone...you probably just miss the subtler ones, and only recognized 3. Seriously I bet your wife would tell you the same thing.
this post has everything to do with ambient music
After years of various things coming up and draining the funds we've squirreled away to work on the house, Anne and I are finally able to afford to have some much-needed work done on our house (thank you, everyone who bought Happiest Days!) We should start sometime in the next seven days, and so...

Hey Wil I just got back from the Experience...a last minute, 24 hour adventure from NC to Vegas. I am sorry your cracked rib kept you from meeting me in Quarks.

evil and awesome (but mostly awesome)
Way back in April, John Scalzi wrote on his blog: Arrangements have been made. Wheels set into motion. At this point, it is inevitable. Unavoidable. Implacable would not be too strong a word. What has begun? I cannot tell you. Suffice to say it is evil. And yet awesome, in its way. And it ...

Star Trek: The Experience is closing
It was bound to happen sooner or later, and though I've known this was coming for a few months now, I was still really sad to read confirmation that Star Trek: The Experience is closing September first. Offering a sad commentary on the state of the Star Trek franchise, the Hilton Hotel in Las V...

Wil!
You are the one to who convinced me to start watching BSG about a year? ago, when you were bragging about how it was the best show on tv. So my husband and I Netfixed what we could, then started DVRing it we are now all caught up AND now I found out you have fallen behind!
the secret life of wheatons
And now, via reprinted text messages, a glimpse into the private lives of a geek, his wife, and their son: Anne: Michelle was late, so I'm going to be at work longer than I thought. See you guys sometime around 9. Me: Somehow, someway, between Battlestar Galactica, NHL playoffs, and Rock Band, w...

Wil, I don't comment anymore because well...
1. Although you are personable, you are also still very much the unattainable Jr. High crush and so I agonize over every word I type, just in case you actually read this comment #145, and I don't want to look like a fool in front of you (too late)
2. someone already said it better than I did
3. You are not actually reading this, I am just making a fool of myself for other readers to see.
But otherwise I think that the shorter address is benefitial for you in general, so which ever way you adjust things (renew the old, dump the new) get RID of the longer address.
less than you think
Moving back to wilwheaton.net becomes less and less of a priority every day. The number of people who read what I write via some form of syndication outnumbers the number of people who come to the actual site, and the number of you who take the time to comment (which actually means a lot to me -...

and I am thinking that you said you wanted to spend the day outside, why did you go to a library? I swear only in CA would a library look like a friggin garden oasis, even our "botanical garden" here in NC doesn't look anywhere near that good, much less our libraries
dewdrops in the garden
Right after I turned in next week's Games of our Lives this morning, I turned to my rather long list of things I want and need to write about. I was prepared to have a very productive and creatively satisfying day. Yeah. That lasted as long as it took me to glance out the window. "Man," I though...

Congratulations Wil! May this be the beginning of a long string of successful endeavors.
finally back to me
Remember the audition I had last week at Nickelodeon? I had a crush on this project as soon as I read the breakdown. After I met the director and grokked what sort of story she wants to tell, I was hopelessly in love with the project. I really, really hope I get this job. I don't spend a lot of ...

come on now everyone knows that the end all and be all of nick was "You can't do that on television". but maybe i m just showing my age (same as yours wil!).
And I may be alone in this opinion, but I think that you always kept a very youthful quality to your voice. It is very recognizable and i can still hear that young teenage you there.
silently and back to me
I had an audition for a voice over at Nickelodeon yesterday. The only problem is, I, uh, didn't know about it, because the details on the reading came via e-mail during a period of a couple days last week when all e-mail sent to me went flying off into the gamma quadrant of the Zarkon V Nebula. ...

I caught the last hour "How William Shatner Changed the World" last night on the History channel...it was a riot.
If you haven't seen it yet Wil...I would love to be the first to recommend it,I think you would really enjoy it caus it relates your two favoite things: technology and William FUCKING Shatner :)
box of rain
I'm working on WWdN today (about to stop and walk my dogs; the rain has broken, and it's quite beautiful outside right now) and I thought I'd share a couple of links for any readers who found me in Exile, rather than following me over from WWdN. The first is something I wrote a long, long time a...
