So maybe with Japan and the Coliseum the Sox will have out drawn the Yankees for Spring Training

If the title of this discussion is right and it is the end of Roger and Torre is Buster Olney going to come out with his sequel book "Ok now its really the last night, I swear"

The Myth of Jeter being the best shortstop of his generation and a first ballot Hall of Famer typically includes people playing the leadership/captain card. Thats when the estimations of his greatness become 'overrating'. Think about someone making the comment that 'Tek is better than Posada (despite the stats) due to his 'leadership'

Are any YFs secretly afraid that Donnie Baseball is cursed and they won't win another WS until the year after he leaves the organization? That would seem reason enough not to want him managing. Rationally having a hitting coach as a manager is usually as successful as using a pitching coach (where have you gone Joe Kerrigan).

Nice pics, Unfortunately for Sox fans everyone in Europe seems to want a Yanks hat although they dont care if its red or green. PS The biggest sport in Belgium is cycling. Those tennis players are nice and all but Tom Boonen their real hero. Even the president of the country shows up on the post Tour-stage talk shows on TV and will discuss the days race and the old heros of Belgian cycling. If you want to see some real 'honkball' then you gotta go up north to Holland

Funny how shortstops like ARod and Tejada have been stealing all of Jeter's MVPs during his reign of very good-ness.

Ok maybe a lot of guys in the HOF would trade a lot of the individual achievements for those rings, but Jeter would seem to miss a lot of the MVP awards, batting titles, gold-gloves that go with getting into Cooperstown. Was there any one year where he was the best shortstop in the AL? He seems to lack the dominance of his position that Rivera has and other 'first-ballot-lock' type players have. You have to wonder if he wasn't leading the most expensive team of the past decade, but stuck in a small market would he still be 'well on his way'?
