There is a fine line between enthusiasm when a goal is scored, and unwarranted hyperbole which is exhibited by Gus. Still, he's better than San Jose's current home announcers.

Pains me to admit it, but I was an EJ doubter at the beginning. But his cross to Alonso was beautifully done. Great signing by Seattle.
Arlo White is awful? More like he's the best announcer MLS has ever had. Are you really that repulsed to hear someone with a foreign accent? Hooray for Xenophobia!

+1 I actually like Julie Foudy a lot, but her commentary is horrendous. Chastain has taken the reigns.

I love that the constant in soccer communities online is the universal dislike of John Harkes being anywhere near a microphone. Word Hope!

Game isn't over yet, but a win is a win. Not the US' fault that the Cuban player lost focus and got a straight red.
Blatter sucks, and he has absolutely zero idea about the MLS and its exceptional growth. What a corrupt piece of sh*t. Cold weather only seems to destroy the pitch, and I really think the current MLS schedule is perfect. As far as John Harkes leaving? I've been anticipating this day for a long time. I've been trying to look up some recent Twellman color commentary, and from what I hear, he may not be a huge improvement, but he SPEAKS IN COMPLETE SENTENCES. Harkes' dismissal was long overdue and I'm eagerly anticipating Darke/Healey plus Twellman next year.
Did a serious LOL to this one
"Ruiz floated a left-footed rebound shot out of the reach of Chicago goalkeeper Jon Conway." Did you even see the goal? Pure skill and definitely worthy of "golazo" status. Not sure about goal of the year since there is plenty more time to go, but you win understatement of the year.

Anyone have a highlight of Jackson's goal last night or in general? He seems to be a very prolific scorer and a promising bright spot for Canadian soccer.
Zizzo was breaking at one point around the 70th minute and had the chance to feed a wide open Cooper and failed to pass to a sure goal opportunity. Huge fail on Sal's part there. I hope Spencer chews him out for it.
LOVE the celebration too! SUCK IT Saprissa!
Very poor decision by Crouch on both tackles. Real Madrid should be able to cruise now.
This entire situation brings a smile to my face for a couple of reasons. 1. Ochocinco has a loyal contingent of fans, and it could send a great message to his fans that soccer is a legitimate sport that their favorite WR enjoys playing 2. Ochocinco is really enjoying himself out there 3. His struggles further corroborate that MLS is NOT a mediocre league that any athletic individual can excel in. Putting to rest the thought that LeBron James could dominate in MLS.
I was actually under the impression that this was precisely the nature of the competition. I think it would be really cool for the MLS to implement this. It would possibly increase exposure of the USOC, and it would be cool if they hosted the games at a centrally located stadium so neither teams' fans would have to travel too far. Now, that might mean having it held in Kansas City or Houston every year, but with their beautiful new stadiums, I hardly see that as a negative.
Freakin' Petr Cech! Ruined Dempsey's shining moment.
I'm elated that you aren't on the IOC committee, where you would brashly deny the development of a competitive sport. At least HammerFan had something constructive to say.
I'm not completely against it, but I don't really see the point of having an Olympic soccer tournament in addition to all the World Cup and individual federation tournaments. Winning the gold medal is a special moment for teams, but winning a World Cup or the Gold Cup is a much more satisfying result. Instead of insisting on another outdoor soccer tournament, maybe the Olympics should consider indoor soccer at this point. It can help develop the sport even more.
Qatar is the most "western" but they also donated $50 million dollars to Hamas. So what happens if Israel qualifies for the tournament? Eff you FIFA

Donovan looks good in an Everton kit. From various clips on YouTube, he seemed to really like Everton, and I think they have a very decent team (Tim Cahill is one of the leading goal scorers in the EPL this season). He should definitely take his time, and while I would be sad to see him leave the MLS, I think Donovan would excel at Everton. As for Putin not showing up, he's probably playing mind games or bribing FIFA officials. I think England should get the bid, but I'm pretty confident Russia will get it.

Honestly, the playoffs system does a great job of attracting new fans, in addition to the awesome, loyal fanbases for each franchise. The single table also remains relevant because of Supporter's Shield (CCL Bid), which is definitely consolation for our Galaxy getting annihilated by FCD. I think the Pro/Rel system is really cool... for established franchises and sports leagues. It is grossly premature to propose such an idea for the MLS, which is still in its infancy. On the contrary, I think it would be awesome if they did this for the NBA or NHL, where crappy franchises get demoted to secondary leagues and small-town franchises get to play with the big boys (and get dominated).
Why would Edu leave? He's a mainstay for their starting lineup, which increases the likelihood of him getting more play during Champions League, not to mention Rangers are perennially in the top two of the SPL table. He also scored in the Old Firm, he shouldn't leave anytime soon.
I sometimes find that SBI employs hyperbole when they say certain players suck, but not with Gonzalez. One poster talked about how clumsy and awkward he played against Dallas, and I really agree. He has qualities you don't want to see in defenders.

Ummm, isn't that karma directly tied to his career? Well done Einstein, you proposed an internet aptitude test that you can't pass yourself.
