You're so right Ceren, Turkish and Greek is same thing. That's why those are two of my favorite cuisines! Oh feta. I might do that TONIGHT. Yay, Kristy! My fave too.

Amanda, thank you so much for writing. I appreciate the encouragement, compliments and understanding. You're so right on in regards to the immersion quote. Thanks for reminding me of something I really needed to remember. And thank you for reading for so long and for reaching out.

Thanks so much ladies! Purging our lives and homes of all the stuff we accumulate is so cathartic for sure. I, I definitely hear you. However, I do believe that one can binge and purge in life outside of food. And that it's a cycle in my own life that I can't name in any other way. When I said "hook" I was referring to the first line, but of course I know the association is hard to escape. My hope is that readers can refer to my past 3 years of columns and know that I'm always attempting to be honest about myself and my own life and experiences and certainly not trying to offend or comment on anyone else's life choices. That said, I definitely see where you are coming from and apologize to anyone who may feel that my theme hit a little too close to home. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.

Courtney! I'm so sorry! I couldn't think of any better way to name what I'm describing in this article, and thought it would be a great hook into the rest of the column...but you're so right. I don't want to make light of it or freak anyone out. My apologies!!

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and your experiences. Always comforting to hear words of encouragement and general affirmation/commiseration and advice.

Thanks, Danielle! Len, the book was called Clean Gut.

Incroyable!
Lindsay, I wish I could take credit for that, but Jenn Mitchell shouted INNER THIGHS during class and a light bulb went off. My inner thighs were quaking like crazy--and I was like OH. DUH.

Killin it Judy. Just killin it.
Amen, Judy. Amen. Next time I see you, we'll do a little Lithe sisterhood dance! We do know enough CCS. Thank you, Sarah R! You're the lithespiration for this post! Lauren, inertia is definitely the word.

Judy, I just CUOL'd (cracked up out loud). Done!
JUDY!! Thank you!! Will you move in with me??
Guys, I'm so so happy that you think you'll give this a shot. Laura, I still can't believe you made my macaroni! So glad you and your boo enjoyed it! My secrets are always: lime and salt. Don't be afraid of either! And a good thick plain yogurt makes everything better!
Emmy, this was so eloquently put. The essence of Lithe in a couple of short paragraphs. Thanks for sharing!

Lauren, this recipe is speaking my language BIG TIME. I love Ramen but only make it at home as a last resort meal occasionally because of all the sodium in those silver packages. I'm going to make this! Where can I get kelp noodles? Whole Foods?

Wow guys!! Thank you SO much for all the great advice. Crock pots, fridge cleanouts, positive and forgiving towards myself. I love it. I feel inspired already!

Haha! So funny Lindsay. Yes, they are definitely hard to cut. I usually, just cut them at the neck (if that's the proper word?) and then have to easier to handle ends to slice through lengthwise. But I don't blame you for steering clear of the danger they definitely can pose. I actually just bought some delicatas today for a winter salad recipe I saw on 101 cookbooks, so I'll have to save a few pieces for my yogurt. Good thinking!
Melissa, I've truly reached the promised land if YOU and your healthy self are going to try one of my recipes. Woo hoo! Julia, this is great! De-seeding is super easy, I promise. Just scoop out with a spoon. Takes no time at all, I promise. And I bet the price difference between pre-cubed (and maybe taste) will be worth the effort. Good luck!!
Erin, Melza, Cat and Toni. We have ALL been there. I would venture to guess that even the most dedicated Lither/workout fiend you know has been there. I have not only been there, but return every once in a while. Thanks for sharing your stories and let's support each other from afar and take comfort knowing you are definitely not alone in this.

Thanks SO much guys. It is so helpful to know you can relate. Showing up is half the battle for sure. Rebecca and Danielle, that's such a good way to look at things--just doing your best is good enough even if it isn't the best you're used to. And says...it's doing the best you can. Amanda and Miriam...I know I'll feel so good after. I just need to keep it in mind. NM and Julia, I'm right there with you. We can do this!

Congratulations, Natalie! This was very inspiring. I try to explain the "Lithe Effect" as I call it, to my friends and family, who also think that my obsession with the workout is about trying to attain some idea of my perfect body, instead of all of the things you've detailed here. Completing the challenge is a serious accomplishment and you should be very proud. I'll never forget when I finished mine a couple of years ago. I felt like a completely new person. Keep it up and hopefully I'll see you in class!

Rebecca and Megan, I'm so glad I struck a chord! I wasn't sure if this piece was going to make sense to anyone at all. Julia, you're my hero! QR, I'm just beginning to understand all of this myself. Glad I could shed at least a little light. And thanks so much to everyone else!
