Oh, busy with life and work... No time for fun. Picked up the 3-disk collector's edition, but so far only watched deleted scenes on disk 1.

Gosh, just use the windows calculator in scientific mode. Type in a number in decimal, then click on the "Oct" (octal, i.e. base-8) radio button.
Beautiful close-up at 0:21

Given that computers' computational power doubles roughly every 18 months, I expect the CGI to be at least twice as impressive! :)

#1. A (shielded) laptop - with a built-in microphone and webcam, packed full of software, a few encyclopedias, avatar survival guide, and if there is room left, some music #2. My toolbox #3. Solar-powered battery charger
There is no right or wrong way of taking snapshots and no magical program that will get everything perfect in a shot taken from a sequence which has fast-moving objects. The source is only 24 frames per second, so things will appear blurry. Plus, Cameron intentionally blurred out areas to create artificial focus points. The best shots come from sequences with little-to-no-movement.

QotD: There are far too many great images of Neytiri. For fan art, I'd have to say these are my 2 favorites...
