Wow! In that one picture Lena and Will look about the same size(from that camera angle). So sweet - she is choking...oops...I mean hugging him - what wonderful cousins they will be.
Oh, you'd think that after having 2 in college and only 2 left at home, I would get out of the check-off-list mentality. Things have been so busy here that I think I would forget my head if it weren't attached. :) What a breath of fresh air it is to just stop and sit and watch the kids play in that crisp fall air. I miss New England autumns for sure - the colors, the pleasant chill in the air before it gets really bone-chilling cold, the apple cider and pumpkins, the way the leaves blow across the yard... But keep your eyes on the road next time :)

I was in the mood for stuffed peppers without meat. After browsing several yummy-looking versions, I tried out this one but tweaked it of course... my version makes the peppers crunchier. Enjoy! Bell Peppers with Quinoa, Black Beans and Chickpeas... Continue reading

That would be a treat! And it's okay to drink? My grandfather used to take empty milk jugs to a nearby natural spring as well, but his weren't free - he had to pay 10 cents for each gallon he pumped. Still a great deal.

Oh, Monday, how I can't believe you're here already... I'm enjoying... Admiring the colors of our very small 'garden' of tomatoes this year... Being surprised that those tomato plants have been producing anything this year due to heat (and neglect)...... Continue reading

Lots of work! A good kind of busy. And...you want to restart Aug 20th? I'll pray for you! :) Love the pierced earrings. That will make for some future sweet and simple Christmas and birthday gifts.

She likes the berries, I see! Good thing. We missed blueberry picking this year due to bad weather for the local farms. We miss it. Are these your own blueberries or from your favorite blueberry patch you wrote about before? I'm hoping to plant some high bushes next year but need to read up on what types to plant. Any suggestions? Our moment - my daughter on a walk http://hurrayic.typepad.com/hurrayic/2012/08/this-moment.html

Looks like some lovely birthday goodies. Yay for the ball winder - and yes, feet or hands or the back of a chair will suffice until you get a swift. I've never heard of that magazine - I'll have to look for it.

Very ingenious kids you have, Kristen. Maybe some of their ideas and motivation should rub off on my kids.
Look at Lena's expression! Priceless! And of course, a bright neon-pick tutu is a must for blueberry picking. Looks like you're enjoying yourself. Praying for you guys!

I don't know why it took so long! My Age of Brass & Steam kerchief turned into a slightly larger shawlette. I love the colors and the style. It's simple, straightforward, without frilly edges. I will definitely get much wear... Continue reading

What a wonderful basket. Love the color and the fact that it is something useful. Could this be knit instead of crochet? I borrowed that book from the library but never finished it before it was due back. I agree - knitting (or crocheting in your case) is much easier than reading with young children.
