Nobody responded to my post earlier so I'll mention it again! What striked me was that the eviction of the Na'vi kind of reminded me of the eviction of the Bushmen in the Kalahari. The Bushmen were so in-tune with their environment, passed on from thousands of years of knowledge. And their way of live has slowly been eroded and brought in with the rest of modern life. When they tasted modern life half of them became alcoholics and got all kinds of sexual diseases under the sun. That's probably what would've happened over time if the humans had conquered the Na'vi - humanified. Scary huh.

I also think that perhaps humans are past the point of no return. I believe the entire universe is made of an energy which makes us all and I'm kind of just looking forward (or maybe just dreaming!) to the day when my energy goes to form a planet like Pandora, or even a new species here on Earth. Maybe human evolution that's more in touch with its surroundings like the Na'vi.
For now I'm happy just being a human and spreading the word of beliefs like that extolled by Avatar. As Steve wisely points out (no change there!) we can learn a lot from the Na'vi without trying to replicate everything in its entirety. That's where a certain Austrian became undone with his attempt to replicate the Aryan race and the lost civilisations!
I'm sure I'll look back at what I've just written and not know what the hell I'm on about, but that's how I feel right now!

I just saw Avatar 3d for the second time last night and my feelings towards it are worse. I know that we are taught to be thankful for what we have but the Na'vi life is too much not to wish for. (This next sentence goes toward religion and it maybe be a little sacrilegious , so just hear me out....

To add to Steve's post earlier, here's the latest from China on today's opening: http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2010-01/05/content_12754772.htm Surely £2bn is now a conservative estimate?! Also, has anyone else been frustrated by cynical people who think Avatar is just a load of Holywood... Continue reading

My girlfriend and I were exactly the same. I just don't get how you can't be touched by this film.
And when the film finished I just wanted to carry on crying it hit me that much, but I held back because I was in a public place I guess. It wasn't like a normal film - it felt like the Na'vi were real.

I agree with you Sooperstealth. Pandora or somewhere just like it is out there. Maybe even Earth was like that one day in its 5 billion year history? We just don't know.

Avatar changed the way i looked at our planet, we are killing it, and almost no one is doing anything to stop it. Everything is connected and everything has a purpose, but no one sees this. Does anyone else think having an omaticaya clan would be a good idea?

Kaltxì ma-tsmukán si ma-tsmuké. Is anyone else looking forward to Avatar opening in China on Monday? Fantastic that the authorities have allowed the full release over there. It'll be really interesting to see the effect it has on people there.... Continue reading

I wouldn't want to have to side with either. You'll only end up like the humans were in the film.
However, I do feel far more in tune with the Na'vi than the vast majority of humans. I genuinely felt pain when it looked like they were going to be annihilated in the final battle (just before the rest of the species of Pandora answered Jake's call),
What a beautiful race they are.

Na'vi or Humun.... Wich side wll you chose? Im for the Na'vi
I woke up today with my first Avatar 'hangover', having seen the film for the first time yesterday. Can't stop thinking about it and can't believe how much of an impact it's had on me. I hope it remains in my heart.

Hi brothers and sisters (I'm sorry I haven't figured out how to say that in Na'vi but I'm working on it!), oel ngati kameie. I would like to just share some of my thoughts with this new community that I've just discovered. First of all, it warms and cheers my heart to know that there are so many ...
Hopefully continue to come to this website!
Another question would be, what will we do when the website goes? Hopefully not, and if it does I'm sure someone will set up something to fill the void.

A QUESTION FOR ALL OF YOU?! What will you do when AVATAR is no longer in theaters?

Yep, I obviously have issues too!
I felt pretty much exactly the same, Neytiri, especially the feeling bad for being human.

-Bloggers come and bloggers go, but will AVATAR remain?- Has anyone else noticed that as the days go on and as more bloggers join there are also some of those who simply leave us? I know this is not anything new to blog sites, but some of those bloggers who's posts and opinions that I found inter...
My heart says make a sequel, but I actually wouldn't make one for Avatar. Look what happened with The Matrix! May sound a little purist, but I reckon the film as it stands is all that's needed. I'm not sure how this film could ever be topped. If I HAD to vote though, I'd go for a prequel. There's so much of the story that's not told in this one.
AVATAR: Will There Be a Sequel?
Ready for an AVATAR sequel? James Cameron has no objection if AVATAR is successful, but hints about it are tough to come by. If there is a sequel, one of Cameron's first stops for ideas is the video-game wizards at Ubisoft, and Cameron says AVATAR's time-intensive motion-capture technology "ma...
So good to know it's not just me with such an incredible feeling after watching this film. That's the thing though - it's more than just a film isn't it.
I just wish people 'got' it like we did. Everyone deserves an opinion but the odd bad review out there is completely alien to me!

I know this is a statement that many people here will agree with, but the film has changed not only the way I watch films, but the way I feel overall. The film has impacted me so much that I can't get enough of it....I'm just curious how many times has everyone seen this film and why do you conti...
Thanks guys.

Just seen the film tonight. It takes a lot to impress me on the film front and I didn't know what to expect. I'm also not one to be swept away by things either or one for going over the top, so this is going to look out of character! I can say without hesitation that this is the best film I have ...
