Beki, this looks awesome. I envy you this beautiful space! I need to not only organize but beautify... Haven't figured out yet how to do that to my jack-of-all-trades bat cave....

Wow, there are already so many great recommendations. This list is sure to become an enduring resource... Recent enjoyments have included "The Forgotten Garden" (romantic mystery) by Kate Morton and "Remarkable Creatures" (historical fiction) by Tracy Chevalier. Also, anything by C.S. Lewis.

Ha! These were fun comments to peruse! Hm... 1. I panic in water but I dream of being a kayaker. 2. I was the keynote speaker at a national scrapbook convention -- in Taiwan. 3. Even though my house is full of people I am a loner at heart. 4. I am #6 of 15 children. 5. I am a total blog addict.

I hear you: 50 acres = good idea. and the girl's day is a good idea too. My babe (I think they're the same age?) is on her way to Argentina... too far!

Bah. I love that button I've seen around that says "blogging without obligation." I really hate the "obligation!" But I do love when you post -- your projects are always lovely! How nice to see you!

Just awesome!
We try to be "minimalist" about Christmas, but our pile is always terrible too... but actually, I have to agree with you on the food. Wasted food drives me CRAZY but we have a half-full-plate-down-the-sink problem at our house that I am really trying (not very successfully) to help everyone overcome...

New to your blog -- love it! :) Great story and I am so glad you found your ring! Lost my ring last summer and after my husband, my kids and I went 'round and 'round the campsite hundreds of times, I sadly insisted we give up and get the baby out of the sun. My awesome husband and son drove 3 1/2 hours back the next day with a metal detector -- and searched most of the day (!) until they found it!

Ten on ten... cool snapshot of "a day in life." Thanks. :) As for babysitters: it is divine thing to have arrived at "built in babysitter" status. Woot! Even though we have a young baby, we still get dates and even weekend getaways sans kids. My big kids are awesome that way... but this weekend the three young adults went on a road trip by themselves, so we regressed to the old ways of taking all the kids everywhere we went. (Yikes! This turned into a long comment! Happy Sunday!) xo

I have the same problem... My mother upgraded her serger and and gave me her old one... I haven't touched it and it has been months and months (and months). And by the way, Woohoo for you on needing to make the skirt a smaller size! I am at the opposite end: we welcomed a wee one recently, and *groan* I have misplaced my waist!

Tried these with raspberries, and used just some freezer jam containers we had on hand for molds (not all the way full). They were GREAT! And yes, sooo much better homemade!

When I first clicked over, before reading, I thought, Wow, Harper looks so much like Adelaide.... Hm. I recognize the kids' baby pics and I've never even met them. What a lovely small world the internet creates.

Can't wait to see how this goes.... How many, and what kinds, of hens do you have now? Can you tell me what kind of rooster you have? We are deciding what rooster to get -- we want a gentle one who can be enjoyed. Our last one was a really aggressive one, and he was no fun!
