In my attempt to not quote too much scripture in this political post that I already felt ran the risk of being too long, but still needing to make a point to those for whom scripture is important, I left out a few important words from Romans 1: 28 - 32. And I did it without using "..." to indicate that this was not a continuous quote. And I did it without indicating from where I took the partial quotes. Thanks to your observations I have edited the original post and included all of Romans 1: 28 - 32. However, nothing in this post is invalidated by Romans 1:26-27 or changes the reasons I quoted 28-32. Assuming Paul was right, whatever your interpretation of Romans 1:26 & 27, surely these are not the only reasons for 1: 28-32. For example, we could have also include Romans 1: 18- 25 for a fuller picture of what Paul intended. And we could have used Romans 2: 5 -11 to amplify it. And while I believe and caution that Romans 1: 28 - 32 characterize too much of what I see in conservative GOP politics, I do not suggests that Romans 1: 26-27 is the reason for it. And finally, for my understanding of The Christian Church I read Paul's letters. But for my understanding of Christianity, I read the four Gospels--particularily the words allegedly spoken by The Christ. Again, I appreciate your comments. It gave me a lot to think about, especially if I decide to quote scripture to make a point.
