@StellaCadente best of luck to you! Do what ever helps in your case.
I just felt that there should some scientific information to balance all the claims made in that thecandidadiet link.
Just Shoot Me Now
After ten years of unexplained extreme fatigue, joint inflammation, sleep disruption (among other issues), I finally found a Western doctor who thinks he can help me. After analyzing the results of the 30 blood tests he ordered, he diagnosed me as having a low thyroid and a candida problem. I w...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candida_(fungus)#Alternative_medicine_therapies
No studies have proved that having intestinal candidiasis causes any symptoms of illness.
To treat what they refer to as Candida, some alternative medicine practitioners have recommended avoiding antibiotics, birth control pills, and foods that are high in sugar or yeast, ostensibly to "eliminate excess yeast" in the body. However, there is little clinically valid evidence that these "candida cleanse" treatments treat intestinal candidiasis effectively, or cure any of the symptoms claimed by the proponents of the hypothesis.

If you have a lot of stale bread, you can make German Bread Dumplings (Semmelknödel), which are delicious with Goulash, Mushroom gravy or roasts.
Quick recipe:
1 lb of stale bread, cubed
1/2 cup of warm milk
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp butter
2 eggs
2 tbsp parsley
1/2 tsp marjoram
Salt, pepper, nutmeg to taste
Saute onions in butter, add to bread cubes and pour warm milk over the mixture; let stand covered for 20min.
Add rest of ingredients and form baseball-sized dumplings with wet hands.
Add into large pot of boiling, salted water and let steep for 20min, just below simmering.
Guten Appetit! :)
Creative Ways With Leftover Bread
I bake a fair amount of bread at my house. While doing so, I rely on a multitude of recipes and tools. Sometimes, I plan ahead and make Jim Lahey's No-Knead Bread in my Le Creuset. On days when I'm dashing out the door, I program my awesome Zojirushi bread machine to craft a loaf of poppysee...

If You Could Only Choose One Cookbook...
Yesterday was a day of drudgery at my house. I have more than 500 cookbooks, and my shelving system is admittedly deficient and haphazard. Because we live in a small 1920s bungalow, space is at a premium. I have to stash my cookbooks on shelves in nooks and crannies around the house. As a r...
Jamie said on Food Revolution that he tried to actually cook naked once and got bunt! ;)

Naked or Not? What Do You Wear When You Cook?
We all know what the Naked Chef wears in the kitchen, but what about you? I could be the dirtiest cook around. Sauces splash. Grease splatters. Batter drips. And it all lands on me. So I've taken to wearing an old bathrobe to cover up every inch of my clothing underneath. But I think it's fin...
Same thing happened to me at Kress Supermarket.
I was there with my 3-year old on the weekend. He needed to pee and that usually doesn't give you a lot of time to find a bathroom.
The employee in the store claims they don't have a bathroom.
Next time I come back, I notice a customer asking for the bathroom and being led right to it! That was the last time I shopped there.
And the way I read this law, they would have had to let you use their bathroom:

Families, Seattle Citizens Beware: Uptown Espresso Refuses Restroom to Paying Customers
Somebody check me on this: There's what's known as a bad business plan and then there's what they have going on at Uptown Espresso on Alaskan Way. They have what I think is an abominable, horrific, rude, short-sighted and dang near abusive business plan. Here's how it works: They sell customer...
We usually buy Plain Mountain High Yoghurt http://fresh.amazon.com/product?asin=B000R4CJA8 and mix it with our own fruit/apple sauce/jam.
Sometimes (=when they are on sale), we get Safeway's O Organics Yogurts.
Yogurt Comes of Age
It wasn't I until I lived in Paris that I became enlightened as to the ways of yogurt. I was a student in college at the time, and the family I lived with kept a yogurt maker on the kitchen counter. Yogurt, mixed at the table with a little sugar, was our dessert at almost every evening meal. ...
The Swinery is great, I loved their Porchetta sandwich and the Black Forrest Ham.
More Than Bacon: 8 Reasons to Love Your Neighborhood Butcher
The Swinery, an artisan butcher that also offers house-cured meats, cheeses and dry goods opened just a few days ago in my neighborhood of West Seattle. I'd been chomping at the bit, waiting for the store to open so I could sample the house-made, dry-cured bacon. It comes from free-range ...
If you are at Bakery Nouveau, don't miss out on the 'Twice Baked Almond Croissant'!
It's a Challah Day!
If you're a fan of challah French toast, better hop to it and head out to your favorite bakery this weekend for a once-a-year treat. Crown challah, the round challahs made exclusively for the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah, are here! One of my favorite Seattle bakeries, Bakery Nouveau, make...
Sounds great!
How exactly can you be "taking care not to crush the kiwifruit seeds"?
New Kiwi Gold
I love kiwifruit, the fuzzy, New Zealand import with the bright green flesh and crunchy black seeds. Today, wandering through a health and fitness fair at the local mall, I was introduced to a new type of kiwi, a hairless version with the same crunchy seeds, but now with bright yellow flesh. M...

Geoduck Might Be the Best Northwest Shellfish You've Never Eaten
I’ve always been fascinated by the geoduck (pronounced "GOO-ee-duck," for you non-Northwesterners) and not just because of the bivalve's titillating appearance. (Hey, is that a giant clam or are you just happy to see me?) This native Northwest shellfish can live up to 100 years and weigh up to...

Rock and Roll with the Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker
Are you having a Memorial Day barbecue or potluck and want to feature a fun hands on dessert for the kids? If so, then buy a Play and Freeze Ice Cream maker and tell the kids to have a ball. This ingenuous gadget, made by Industrial Revolution in Redmond, Washington, makes it possible to cran...
As far as I know, the buses have transponders and at fixed checkpoints the system can track the number of the bus that just passed. But as soon as one bus is very late (or early) or leaves the planned route this system is very ineffective, which became apparent in the recent snow days.
I'm hoping the GPS upgrade will make this a lot more reliable and should also help in the snow chaos scenario.
Riding the bus sucks, which is why I drove my SUV to the Sustainable West Seattle Festival
This is a long story. Perhaps you would like to take notes. Especially if you are a Metro Transit employee. My wife was out of town over the weekend, but I had plans to keep me busy. On Saturday, I would go to Bainbridge Island to have dinner with friends. And on Sunday, I was scheduled to m...
Seattle Buses do not have GPS...yet. It is a planned update for 2010 http://westseattleblog.com/blog/?p=13162
Stephen, OneBusAway rocks! But all available applications use the same data, which becomes very unreliable, if the buses deviate from their route in bad weather.
