Every year I write you a letter, so this year will be no different. Truthfully, they are just as much for myself as they are for you. Not only as a way to remember how far we've come but they remind me to stay focused on why I'm so happy... Continue »

On the days of big events, you remember right where you were, the weather, what song was on the radio, whatever. Today is my baby boy's ninth birthday. I keep thinking "nine years ago RIGHT NOW I was in labor." I was in labor two days, so I've had a... Continue »

Jammin’ I didn’t mean to mention this so early in the season, but my favorite jam maker is selling out fast. Pim’s Moorpark Apricot is no more, and it’s too late to get the fascinating Saffron Peach. Pim Techamuanvivit makes her spectacular jams in very small batches, and I’m afraid that if I wait any longer they’ll all be gone.... Continue »

Goodness gracious. What a couple of months. What a last few weeks! Hurricane, election, out-of-town guests, a snowstorm, a job in flux... cue the frogs. It's all very agnostically apocalyptic. Since the miscarriage in July - it feels harsh to just lay it out like that after so long apart,... Continue »

I've always enjoyed applesauce, but recently I've just found myself craving it all the time. I talked to my grandma [who makes the BEST applesauce] and asked for her recipe. When she gave it to me I didn't believe her it was that easy! So I took her tips and... Continue »

It looks like pagination is a new [marquee tag](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marquee_element). Now all hip websites like [Twitter](https://twitter.com), [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/) got a fancy infinite scrolling. Scroll down more, you'll get more tweets, status updates or contents. Just for browsing stuff, scrolling with space key (or petting your shiny trackpad) is good enough for those lazy people. Currently TypePad provides only paginations on monthly archive pages like [http://sekimura.typepad.com/blog/2011/02/index.html](http://sekimura.typepad.com/blog/2011/02/index.html). But you can make your own infinite scroll page by following these steps: ** Step 1: Create a new "Page" ** Go to "Compose" page and select "New Page" from Compose pull down menu. ** Step 2:... As the era of Six Apart comes to a close, and I look back on my almost five years here, there is a group that I feel deserves just as much recognition as the rest of us... plus some treats and belly rubs. I'm talking, of course, about the Six Apart Dogs. Dogs have been a huge part of the culture around here for as long as I've been on board. Like them or not, they've always been present. Most were well-behaved, but some would get their wild on from time to time, and that was ok. Sometimes we'd encourage... Continue »
