Figures. All the cool stuff happens while I'm at work. Apart from that, cool beans!

@Jeremy & Shane: In all honesty, sarcasm is a VERY difficult thing to both convey AND detect in a text-only medium; smilies and emoticons may seem 'uncouth' but they DO help clarify what would've been clear through facial expression and intonation if it had been spoken. Back to the topic, I've become somewhat inured to Mr. MacFarlane's comedy, but I did smirk slightly at the magnitude of the result, and grin at the quirks and twists of "Whil's" dialogue. (sorry, man - couldn't resist :D )

Thanks, Wil - "Taco" was a fine investment of four minutes (I dawdle when reading), and thank you too, Greg - when I have some extra cash at hand, I'll be strongly considering patronizing you with shiny gold rocks! Side question, Mr. W: why do you preface your addenda with "ETA:"? What, apart from the obvious (and inappropriate) meaning, could this conglomeration of letters mean? Nonetheless, thanks for piquing my curiosity!

"play RPGs...but couldn't tell the difference between...a d8 and a d10" Ummmmm... But apart from that little gaffe, I'm with you - 'geek' is not a little uniform clique; it's an enormous category with as many subdivisions as there are grains of sand on Venice Beach. There are Gun Geeks, Car Geeks, YES SPORTS GEEKS, Science Geeks, Science Fiction Geeks (and the two groups don't always overlap), Nature Geeks, Computer Geeks, Games Geeks, Comic Geeks, Drama Geeks, Train Geeks, Magic Geeks, Space Geeks, Occult Geeks, Music Geeks (and THAT one alone needs at least two more levels of differentiation), etc. etc. etc. Inevitably, you will get competition and rivalry between disparate groups of geeks; the SciFi pooh-pohh the Comic Book Geeks, who are then looked down on by 'Speculative Fiction Geeks'; vi geeks and emacs geeks STILL have a vendetta going to this day; Ford Geeks and Chevy Geeks and Dodge Geeks hold themselves at bay in a mexican standoff, etc. etc. ...but this is just basic human nature, and hardly behaviour confined to "the Geek Culture". However, there IS one thing that all Geeks can unite against in a valid and totally-legitimate Quest To Better Mankind By Ridding The World Of™: FURRIES!!! /sarcasm

Wil, I think you're right about the project mutating between inception and release; sorry about that, dude. My wife had an idea: we'd watch the video, and tick off each person we positively knew, each we thought "oh, isn't that..." or "looks familiar", and then each person we didn't have a farking clue about. When it was all over, each of us had about a half-dozen in the first two categories, and a mess of marks in the "wtf" group. He77, I didn't even recognize MC Hammer until the "I'm..." closer. That was a big pile of MEH, regardless of how valid and important its underlying cause is, and I'm disappointed that it attached itself to genuinely awesome people like you and others.

Firstly, THANK YOU; I wasted most of the day at ktla.com on The Big Day when you tweeted about the appearance, to no avail. The appearance was great, and I didn't notice anything with your teeth (maybe that temple - ouch ;) ) But JAG? Was it the only hardcover you had on hand? Or is it just that FAUX NUS is living that far in the past? ;) (Seriously, they seemed like a nice group of people - hope it was a pleasant appearance off-stage, too)

Wil; once again, you prove that you RAWK. That was...great/cool/awesome/epic/etc.etc.etc. Words fail to encompass the magnitude. I think you need to say "Who's got two thumbs and is made of WIN? THIS GUY!" ^_^

I feel bad Johnathan lost his balloon. :( Honestly, I haven't watched TFG in ages, so the over-the-top humour hasn't become stale to me; the 'main' storyline was kinda meh, but I loved the MacFarlane silliness, and how the gang all stepped up to it! My only real complaint is I'm currently suffering from pneumonia, and all the laughing was seriously risking my ability to breathe; I felt a couple of times I should stop watching, but I couldn't bring myself to do so; glad I perservered. :) Thanks, Whil - may get your cheeseburger and everything else you wanted! ^_^

Bummer; two of Jordan's companies are no more. ;_; Dude, you're a creative genius, but you REALLY need to hire on someone as an administrator that can keep a business alive! :( Well, may most of the WK employees secure employment soon, and may Mr.Weisman's 'third time be a charm'... *hope-hope*

"So it turns out that there's been a massive, illegal, warrantless domestic spying operation going on in the US for years. " No offense, mate, but you're only catching on to this in the *21st* century? ;) Fashion me an Oliver Stone tin-skullcap™ if you want, but I doubt that ANY US administration had gone without secret illegal intel-gathering on its electorate...hmm - makes me wonder if R.M.Nixon resigned to *stop*investigation* - maybe to limit the revelations of ALL that was going on? :S ANYWAY, Canada is hoping for 'President McCain' - finally there would be a PotUS we could relate to. :D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCain_Foods_Limited http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ma4NvYbzTQQ&feature=related ^_^

"Oh, how much is that doggy in the...oh. Ewwwww!" ^_^ Thanks for the chuckle and keeping us illuminated on your recovery. Rest up and get better! ...well, not that you *sucked* before, or-eh, I'll just stop there. One thing I recently discovered that I think you *might* like, but I'm not sure how it'll affect you recovery... Compy died, so I've been reinstalling everything, and I got to Duke3D and ended up getting Duke Nukem on the brain. :) Browsing around on the intertubes led me to some voice acting outtakes of Jon St.John's over on 3DRealm's site; which make things all the cooler. I'm wondering if you'd already known about this, particularly "Line 2" - I heard it and was suprised at Jon's skill in mimicry. If you /haven't/ heard it, and laughing may cause complications, please save this for when you're stronger; otherwise: http://www.3drealms.com/duke3d/outtakes.html (P.S. I am still trying to find a pic of Patrick Stewart wearing a chef's hat, then getting a clip of him saying "We must consider *the SOURCE*" for a YTMND or something ^_^ )

Whoa, rest up, dude and dinnae worry about us! I've been putting off getting the surgeon to take a chisel to my nose for a deviated septum (I can scrunch my nose and seal my nostrils completely - makes a minor cold a major aggrivation, in addition to making me sound even NERDIER ^_^ ) but maybe I should see about having my nostrils widened enough - at least my wife is a heavy enough sleeper that my snoring can't wake her... Best wishes, rest well, Wil, and happy St.V's day for you and Anne!

Nuts, someone else already pimped "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" - that would've been my big suggestion. And I'm getting feverish thanks to the first big snowstorm of the year, so I can't really come up with a nother title to suggest. In a somewhat non sequitur (and the reason the rest of my functioning mind can't help) is I had a brief brush with minor fame at work; 'Dr. Sid Hammerback' from CSI:NY came in to get some salads; I'd forgotten that Robert Joy has ties back here, and would probably wanna see his family around the holidays if he's not working...due to the Writers' Strike. (BTW, he wears those cool eyeglasses off-stage too :D ) So I guess you could say that "'tis an ill wind, indeed, that blows NO ONE any good." :S

FRANKL: your comments are NEVER too late - you're just less likely to asshat-erize yourself by giving away plot twists. *blush* And thanks Wil, it was a supporting role, but it made the episode all the richer for it (Miles was the reason our 'culprit' committed the crime) Hope you're having a great family weekend, and give Ryan a hug from me! :)

"Comics are a business. I am rich because of that." You do 'douchebag' VERY well, Mr. Wheaton - especially since Miles Sklar seems so unlike *you*. :) And my wife caught your Picard maneuver ^_^(I was looking down to eat at that moment, and only caught it in my peripheral vision) Even if you don't show again, it was well worth it!
