Why the Weekend is Good for Relationship Building
While we are all busy during the week working and building relationships, don’t let the weekend slip by. Yes, it is nice to wind down, relax, and spend time with our families during this time. However, take some time over the weekend to continue cultivating your relationships. We all have so...
I've decided to focus my attention on peoples personal interest first, business interests second. Here's my story..
Earlier this week I introduced my business partner to a friend who is a Graphic Designer (who we are going to work with on our new business). We only had an hour to go over some ideas, so we had to be focused. I made the introduction only mentioning some of their personal interests (a major one been the love of Curry) which they both shared. The next 40 minutes was a fantastic bonding session between the two. Although we didn't get through the work we needed too, you couldn't put a price on the relationship that formed between them. They are even organising a 'curry cook off’ and I'm confident these two will remain in contact on a personal level. Design work is coming along nicely too...
Hope that's useful :)

Thrive on Getting to Know People
One of the most interesting aspects of networking is that you get to meet various people from all walks of life. As you get to know others, you will learn a lot about them and their firms. In fact, most likely you will learn something new that you didn’t expect. Therefore, think about the rel...

Seven Networking Mistakes
When building relationships, it is important that you are effective and don’t make any mistakes when interacting with others. Of course, we have all probably made these before but pay attention so it doesn’t happen again. 1. Selling your product/service – When talking with people, let them...
Thanks for the mention Jason. You're awesome!
Are You a Networking Muppet? by Jason Armishaw
I’ve always enjoyed Ben Young’s blog. His posts are short, to the point, and get you thinking. In fact, it was Ben who helped start me on my blogging journey. While scanning his blog one evening, I came across an old post I enjoy called ‘The muppet ratio’. In it, Ben explains whether or not an...

5 Types of Words Not to Use When Talking with Others
When having a conversation with others, it is best to stay positive and neutral most of the time, especially if this is the first time meeting someone. While it is okay to have your own views and sides on issues, you don’t want to come on too strong before someone gets to know you. Below are 5...
Love it! I always enjoy your Social Networking Humor posts.
Social Networking Humor
Landy has hit the nail right on the head with this post. I couldn't agree more. I've experienced people in business who give their time away and those who are only happy to help when they have their timer running. Both effective, but only one I rave about and refer onto others. The one who understands that helping others (for free) is much more powerful if you're building a long lasting relationship.
I blogged about something similar in my post called 'Getting Naked - Getting Real' http://ow.ly/2nbqw
Well done!
The Unpaid Consultant by Landy Chase
Over the last twenty-five years I have heard more than my share of bad ideas when it comes to effective selling. Here is the worst one that I have ever come across: “Don’t be an unpaid consultant”. I was recently reminded of this when I was asked to participate in a phone conference invol...
