Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a Clean and Simple Theme challenge for us. Now, the weather here this week has certainly called for warm drinks and roaring fires and a good book.... but I decided not to go with the drink theme and used one of my favorite new Stamping Bella stamps. I had SO much fun coloring this image. I still have such a long way to go - and see so many things that I should have done differently, but I enjoyed doing... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a corker for us: Isn't that badge just gorgeous? I love it! White on white is such an elegant combination, especially paired with silver. I looked through my stash and decided that I would pull out an old Tailored Expressions die with snowflakes on it. I thought that would be the ideal thing for the challenge. I began by die-cutting a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and then adhered it to a Solar White base. I die-cut a... Continue reading

Those of you who have been with me for a while may remember that every Poppy Day (Remembrance Day) in England, my father would proudly wear a poppy and visit the cenotaph. He never missed it. Never. It was his own way of remembering his friends and comrades lost in arms. Always guilty and always grateful, that he returned home to his family. Even though Dad has been dead for some 30 years, I never let this day go without paying tribute to those we have lost. As the War to End All Wars fades and we are now 72... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Carolyn's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has an awesome code word for us. Considering the time of year, there are so many different ways you can go with this code word. However, I decided to do neither Christmas - nor presents! We hope you play along with us this week and, if you are chosen as our winner, our wonderful sponsor has a $10 gift card for you to spend in their store. Joining us as our guest designer this week is the very talented Laurel.... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a theme challenge for us. Well, this was perfect for me as my new Altenew set recently arrived and it contains..... pines :-) I wanted to go with a fairly neutral color scheme to allow the globe ornament to stand out. So, I went with a white, silver and blue color scheme. I love the shape of the globe die-cut and I love the addition of the world map on the stamp. Here's a closeup: I used my Kuretake pens... Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and I have a tic-tac-toe challenge for you: I decided to give everyone the chance to make a Christmas card, a fall card or any card with a butterfly. This was because our Antipodean friends are going into Spring and I thought they might want to make something less seasonal:-) I decided to go vertical on the first column: Tree, Christmas and Silver and/or gold. I have this super cute little stamp from Stamping Bella called Reindeer and Bird. It has a tree. It is... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Quick post for you tonight. I managed to play along with a couple of challenges yesterday and saw this great sketch across at Matchthesketch and colors across at CAS Colors and Sketches I don't have the SU colors, so tried to match them as closely as I could with the Altenew colors. I decided to try something different for the circle element on the sketch and used the embossed die technique. The Leafy Wreath die from Altenew was the perfect die to use with this technique. I stamped the rose in shades of pink and the leaves in... Continue reading

Hi Everyone Happy Sunday. I am very late with my Paper Players post today. I set the publish time and date for Monday instead of Sunday! It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our challenge this week and she has a sketch for us. It's a great sketch, too! I looked at the background and thought it would be a great sketch to bring out some of the new DSPs I bought. I rarely buy DSPs these days, but fell totally in love with a new set from My Minds Eye called Blush. It's a set of pale blush, blue... Continue reading

Hi Kelly you are right.. they are milkweed pods. Here's the link to the wikipedia page for this particular milkweed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asclepias_tuberosa It really is beautiful - the orange flowers are just gorgeous. I hope you are able to get some and grow it where you are. If you need seeds, I should be able to get some locally and send them to you. hugs jaydee
