Hi Everyone Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our 401st challenge at the Paper Players and she has a bright and fun color challenge for us: I must confess, I don't have any of these new SU colors, so I had to match as closely as I could using Comic markers. :-) These colors did scream FLORAL to me and you know that I can't resist coloring flowers. The issue was..... what flowers to color? In the end, I decided on the Power Poppy Orchid Rocks Power Poppy was on of the sponsors of our 400th challenge... Continue reading

Hi Everyone I have a quick post for you tonight. I made a card for the new Inkspirational Challenge Before I get to my new card though... I'd like to say a huge thank you to the team for selecting my African sunset card from this post as a top 3 pick. I don't get to play along with challenges anywhere near as much as I used to, but Inkspirational is one of my favorites, so being chosen as a top 3 placement was a great thrill! Now... on to the photo for this week. At first I was tempted... Continue reading

Hi Everyone, It's the fabulous Doni's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and this is her code word: I hope you will play along with us this week. If you do, and you are chosen as our winner, the fabulous Kylie has a $20 gift voucher for you to spend at her online store: I know that this code word was really meant for all those parents that have just had new babies, but around our house it is birdie baby feeding time. I spent the whole afternoon at the dinette table watching the orioles, 3... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. I have a quick post for you tonight - and it's a Christmas card! yes.... I know... It's only the beginning of July and none of us are ready to think about cold weather. Especially those of us that had over 20 inches of snow in May!!! However, I purchased this wonderful set from Power Poppy and couldn't wait to ink it up. As my blog readers may remember, our Cardinals hang around all through winter and provide wonderful pops of color on those cold, drab winter days, so purchasing this set was a no-brainer for me :-)... Hi Everyone. Happy 4th to my US based readers and a belated Happy Canada day for my Canadian readers! The Paper Players are celebrating our 400th challenge and I know how much work it takes to keep a challenge going. The fact that the CT team are celebrating their... Continue reading

HI Everyone. I've been on a bit of a coloring binge this weekend from watercolor to Copic to pencils. I just needed some downtime and an excuse to switch off and just focus on something different. COloring always does that for me. So, you will be seeing a few different cards this week :-) The ladies across at Just Us Girls are having an anything goes week, so this butterfly card seemed like a great card to submit for the challenge. Although I missed the Color Throwdown challenge, I did love their bold bright colors of green, yellow and blue,... Continue reading

To help us celebrate this 8 year journey, we have 40 - yes that is FORTY - prizes to be won. The crafting community really is such... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. I have a very quick post for you tonight. I made a card inspired by the challenge across at Just Us Girls Isn't that just the sweetest pineapple you have ever seen? What a great carving job. I love pineapple but, very sadly, I am deadly allergic to it. Yep... you know the..... carry an Epi Pen ... allergic. So, I have to make sure to stay as far away from tropical drinks and tropical fruit salads. But, I can certainly appreciate a great piece of pineapple sculpture when I see it. :-) I started my stamping an... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. I have a quick card for the Color Throwdown challenge this week. Here's the fabulous, soft, palette: I wanted to create a soft, watercoor version of this challenge. It felt really floral, but I decided I wanted to pull out an older floral stamp set from Rubbernecker. It is one of the earliest floral sets I have. I started with some watercolor paper and white heat embossed the outline images. I used some Winsor and Newton watercolor markers to color the image For the background, I was torn about what color to use. Blue? White? Green?... Continue reading

Next week is our FOUR HUNDREDTH CHALLENGE! I really hope you check out the challenge next week. It is truly an amazing challenge with some fabulous - and I mean fabulous - prizes! Hi Everyone. It's the fabulous Susan's turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge this week and she has a great code word for us: I decided to use my Stamping Bella - Hero Bella stamp. As usual, if you are looking or some inspiration, our design team have created some fabulous cards, including our Guest Designer Cindy Chiu. There are multiple people I know right now... HI Everyone. Happy Wednesday. I have a quick post for you tonight. I decided to play along at the "Inspired by the LIttle Things" challenge - I love the photo - pity I missed the challenge cut off.... but I couldn't help but make a card! Aren't thos stained glass feathers just gorgeous? I pulled out my old Papertrey Ink Feather Finery and decided to go with a rainbow of colors for the feathers.... although I was really tempted to go with the turquoise and reds from the inspiration photo. I had to find a way to incorporate the wonderful... Continue reading

HI Everyone. Happy Tuesday. Hope you are all having a great week. I have a quick card for you tonight based on the challenge across at one of my favorite challenge sites - Inkspirational. I'm just sorry that I don't get to play along more often these days! Now.... I have VERY few small stamps, but remembered that I had a set from the Hero Arts Monthly card kit that would be perfect. It comprises of many multiple small stamps that I was able to group together to create a scene. There's a story behind this card :-) I wanted... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a clean and simple theme challenge: I decided to have a little fun with this challenge. I haven't used my crazy emu stamp for a while and decided it was time to dust him off and give him some crazy hair. I inked up my stamp with markers using a mixture of reds, greens and yellows. Instead of the normal black ink, I used Altenew's Industrial Diamond - a really nice grey. I huffed and puffed onto the stamp to re-wet it and... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I hope you are all having a great start to the week. I have the last of my Altenew Educator Certification Program cards to share with you tonight. My card was inspired by the second lesson in Clean, Simple & Colorful Techniques class taught by the fabulous Laura Bassen. This particular lesson focused on coloring with a blending tool and then adding detail with Copic markers. Hey.... when ever do I need to have an excuse to make a card using Copic markers and the flicking technique :-) I started by stamping the images for my... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a color challenge: So....this color combo was a huge challenge for me. Crumb cake?!!! I never use Crumb Cake and I don't have Lemon Lime Twist - or Calypso Coral :-) So, I had to go looking through my supplies and find the closest things that I could. Next.... what stamps to use? I spent a few minutes - well about 20 in total! Going through my stash and trying to work out what to use. In the end, I couldn't... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Oh.... I have ANOTHER non-floral card for you tonight! Of course, that means that I am overdue sharing a floral card :-) This is the penultimate card for the Level 3 Altenew Educator Certification Program. I can't believe that I am almost at the end! One of the classes was "Sentiments with Impact". I took insipiration from one of the lessons that showcased multi-colored sentiments. I needed a birthday card and decided this was the perfect opportunity to bring out one of my die-cuts and use a mixture of green, blue and gold on a stacked sentiment. I... Continue reading

HI Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I have a quick post for you tonight. This is the card that I made for my Altenew Educator Certification Program Level 3 class - Creative Watercolor Media. One of the lessons was to use shimmer sprays as the watercolor medium. I don't have a lot of sprays..... actually I have 3 :-) So, those three colors dictated the colors for the card! I know..... back to florals... I can just hear you all :-) I didn't use to create a lot of floral cards until Altenew came along. So it's all their fault :-) But... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. Sorry about the ear worm :-) 10 green bottles hanging on a wall... or in my case 5 pink bottles sitting on a card :-) As you have probably guessed, I have another non-floral card for you tonight! This one is for one of the final classes I had to do for the Altenew Educator Certification Program - called 'Tis the Season. I decided to make a card inspired the the wonderful Laura Bassen's lesson where she used a co-ordinating die to create a shaker card and I combined that with her other lesson - using... Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great theme for use: Oh... I had so many ideas for this.. but in the end settled for an old stamp set that I have had in my stash for several years. It's an old set from Fun Stampers Journey and has these cute little birds in it. As I needed to make a "thanks for taking me away" card for Lou, I thought it would be perfect to use them for this card. Lou's favorite color is Celeste... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday. I have the second card that I created from the Muse class across at Altenew. I really enjoyed this class. You can check out the first card that I made at this link. When I was looking through the inspiration photos that Carissa shared - I fell in love with this amazing cake. Now.... my regular blog readers will know that pink... and purple.... are NOT colors that I generally gravitate to. However, there was something about this particular photograph that had me enraptured! I love the ombre from the deep rich purple/brown to the palest... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday, I have just a couple more classes to take before I have to take the final for my Altenew Educator Certification Program. I passed level 1 and level 2 and am now working on level 3. One of the classes that I elected to take was Muse. What a great class. I think this was my favorite class so far. I often have brain freezes when it comes to layout and colors and Carissa does an amazing job of explaining how to find inspiration in so many areas. Not only does she talk about it -...
