I haven't been able to watch the other episodes of Tabletop (though I have done my part and liked/subscribed), but I love Eureka and couldn't resist when I saw Colin Ferguson was going to be on this episode.
I'd like to say that not only was I thoroughly entertained, I went right out to the internet to find Ticket to Ride so I can coerce folks into playing.
The show is a great idea and you're doing a great job with it. Congrats on a brand new fan!
New Tabletop! Ticket to Ride with Colin Ferguson, my wife Anne, and our friend Amy!
I am especially geeked out in this episode. I mean, switch to decaf, Wheaton. As always, you can watch this is glorious HIGH DEFINITION at YouTube. Please subscribe, like, and tell your friends to do the same... we'd really like to get a second season.
The RIAA and MPAA are, again, on the wrong side of history. Attempting to tear apart one of the single greatest communications achievements in human history in a misguided attempt to cling to an outdated business model instead of adapting to the changing world is a fucking crime.
THIS! EXACTLY THIS!
This is my biggest argument against the MPAA/RIAA. The world changed; they didn't. They expect the same business model that worked pre-Internet to work post- and that just doesn't hold water.
Artists have new, free/cheap avenues to reach a wider audience without the assistance of Big Music/Big Movies. When it became clear that artists no longer "needed" them, Sony, Island, etc., should have adapted to include new/upgraded services that kept their companies relevant with new technology. Instead, they chose to entrench themselves in the Old Way of Doing Things and punish anyone who moved on without them.
When the world changes, you can either adapt or die. I guess we know which choice the MPAA/RIAA have made.
Today the US Senate is considering legislation that would destroy the free and open Internet.
“Why is it that when Republicans and Democrats need to solve the budget and the deficit, there’s deadlock, but when Hollywood lobbyists pay them $94 million dollars to write legislation, people from both sides of the aisle line up to co-sponsor it?” --Reddit Founder Alexis Ohanian on CN...
I'm going to add to the growing crowd of humans who want to tell you that we love you in a totally non-creepy way, support your decision on this, and will defend you to anyone who dares call you a dick or a hypocrite for setting perfectly reasonable boundaries.
I don't know what the long term, global solution to this is, but paparazzi stalking celebrities, posting their personal lives all over tabloids and the internet just makes me sick. I don't support it monetarily and I try to curb my natural inclination to curiosity with a healthy dose of empathy. I wish there were a way to ask everyone to do the same.
if you cut me, i will bleed
Pretty much all of Comicon was awesome. However, there was one thing that was decidedly not awesome, and though I had initially decided not to talk about it in public, it's bothered me since it happened, so I wrote about it on G+ earlier today. I'm cross posting it here, though, because it's imp...
I watched this yesterday morning and cried (happiness, happiness). I watched it again today ... and cried.
Crying maybe not so much, but otherwise, this is such a *lovely* way to start mornings.
The Art of Being Furiously Happy
My wish for today is that everyone watches this, and gets inspired: The Bloggess is amazing.
