It's not that they're evil or that they're consciously choosing to do evil things, it's that they believe they're right in what they do and they're just following that path. That's Parrish. That's Fawkes. That BBT's Wheaton. When you believe you're right, you don't see yourself as evil at all. And that's what makes such characters so interesting to watch. Have fun being seen as evil, sir. I hear it's the best role to get.

I had assumed this level of brilliance already. Now, any chance of some sort of instrucable? Much thanks.

Tonight is Game 4 of out of a best-of-7 in LA. The Kings have won the previous 3 so a win tonight will mean the Stanley Steamer Cup will be theirs for the hoisting.

So few posters to this thread! Like so many who picked the Canucks in the first round, I immediately shifted my playoff allegiance to the LA Kings. I love seeing Quick dance on his head and hope he brings the magic for all the LA fans of "ice hockey" -- both of you :) My brother-in-law rang me up after this game and said, "So what's that black tar you drink again?" in reference to our bet of a case of beer on the series winner. Mmmm, in-your-face victory Guinness...

Thirteen-year-old-me is envious beyond belief: I doodle constantly, trying to create epic tales and superhero art, and it's all about creating something cool and fun to share. 2012-me says, "Congratulations on making this a reality."

As a vacationing Canadian -- Amerika, I was secretly in you -- I got to enjoy this episode well before it airs on our Space channel (Season 4.5 doesn't start until October... *sigh*!) Great job, Wil. I patiently await the northbound SciFi station wagon full of tapes.

YKYBHTLW... ...you wonder why someone would attempt to use an editor on some LA roadway... Could cleaning up the streets really be that easy?

Tape cassette players for hard drives... best reuse for nerdy mix-tapes ever.

Yes, the audio mixing is off but, IMHO, I'd prefer readings to go without the music. I'm unsure what it is with my musically-inclined brane but I find I'm always context-switching between the text and the harmonies/melodies of the music. That hurts. It's also hard to focus. If you're set on musics, maybe little bumpers before and after the readings? I dunno... Sorry to whinge.

I had two paper routes and exchanged every bit of profit into rolls of quarters for the local arcade. Lunar Lander. Missile Command. Qix. And my all-time favorite: Space Wars! I miss arcades...

...I decided that I was going to put on my pads and play again before the 2009 was over. You, sir, aren't trying hard enough. Backwards to the blue line and back! Go!

Allow me to dial the flashback machine to Feb 21 2002 (wow: not only 8 years but almost the same date, too) which in turn, looks back a further 14 years... http://www.wilwheaton.net/mt/archives/000956.php

I've never heard this defined as Pooh Sticks before. I have been enlightened. In the backlanes of our 1950s city homes, the pitched and cracked pavement made for some excellent winding streams and eddys that very small twigs could be raced down. Although uneven, the road surface always sloped to the sewer drain and this was a great place to play in and after the rains. Ah, nostalgia.

Your nerd-rants are my nerd-rants; your wife's eye-rolls are my wife's eye-rolls. Keep these going. To paraphrase an astronomy term, they are good-hearing. Oh, and up-strum bass FTW. It's the only way to rock.

Speaking of the good ol' hockey game... Congrats to the USA Juniors' and their gold medal win at the IIHF final. The shot by Carlson was georgeous. A late 3-on-1, coming across the line looking across to decide on the pass and, instead, he riffs it at the net without a glance. As a goalie, I was just as surprised by that shot as Allen was. Carlson gave all the signs of passing or setting up a 1-2-3 punch and to find the back of the net... beautful. Although I was rooting for my country, I bet on the Americans. Go USA. 8)

I endorse your advice to take in your kids' performances without distraction. One of the first years my kids were doing their thing, I spent way too much time trying to get the perfect photos and I don't remember a lot of what happened. Since then, I've been sitting back and enjoying those moments, pitying the parents who fiddle with their cell-phones, cameras, and video gear. From one goalie to another: *tap tap tap* Oh, and best. Credit roll. Ever. Merry Christmas, sir, from America's Hat.

1. Next you'll be out on that lawn, shaking your fist next door... 2. My only issue with The Incident was Cole being forced to sign but such an inscupulous guy. Other than that, a great setup to the bizarre. 3. Firefox has similar, for those who need it. 3+1. I immediately reduced the products to 8! but didn't know if there's something similar for addition. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? 5. Can I copy your notes from the first class? I've got a hockey game that night... 6. Even though most folks figure, "Meh", NASA is just too cool. Have fun! 7. Ummm... the odd weird comment isn't dickish, right? You're talking about serious spammage, right? 'cause sometimes I've had a few or I think something is particularly high-larious in the wee hours and want to share and... oh, heck.

Wow. This isn't a simple cover! Playing all the "tracks" herself? Her existence a scant nineteen orbits of Sol? A superb talent. Send my kudos to Molly, Wil.
