Please please PLEASE treat yourself and watch Forbrydelsen (The Crime). I watched it days before The Killing and it rendered The Killing unwatchable.
The only thing Forbrydelsen has in common with Twin Peaks is the who killed this girl? aspect. It's really annoying. And I have to agree that Twin Peaks was deeply unsatisfying.
Who's with me on `The Killing'?
The bizarre and wholly unsatisfying conclusion to the "Who killed Laura Palmer?" mystery at the heart of "Twin Peaks" put me off the murder-mystery miniseries genre for 20 years. But all the excellent reviews prompted me to take a chance on the "Who killed Rosie Larsen?" mystery at the heart of...
Ken Jennings! LUCKY!
Emerald City Comicon after action report
ECCC has officially joined PAX on the List of Conventions I Don't Ever Want To Miss. It's well-organized, staffed by competent and friendly volunteers, and has what is, in my opinion, the perfect balance of comics and popular geek culture. This year, I had to leave Saturday afternoon to fly home...
Monster Squad was amazing! I was so in love with Ryan Lambert! These posts are bringing back some awesome memories!
regarding dangly ankh earrings and the 18 year-olds who wore them in 1990
I shoot Big Bang Theory on Monday before I go back to Vancouver to finish out the fourth season of Eureka, so I have scored an entirely unexpected bonus weekend at home with my wife. Yesterday, we heard that Toy Soldiers was playing on local station KDOC (which was one of the truly great UHF sta...
Ha, I have this on VHS. I remember when it came out and my cousin rented it for us to watch. I think we were in 7th grade. The movie scared me to death at the time but as I grew older I came to appreciate it. I'll have to re-watch it soon!

Not meaning to completely derail this post or anything, but happy birthday (belated) to WilWheaton.net. I missed it on the 23rd. What....seven years???
Will wwdn ever be back, or are we forever in exile?
PS I'm really proud of you, Wil. You've written another book! Awesome!
five simple ways to Just Keep Writing
I'm reluctant to pass myself off as some kind of authority on writing, because I still have a lot to learn, but from time to time I'm asked a question that I can answer with some degree of confidence. That happened earlier today, and (as you'll see at the end of this post) I thought it may be wo...

Signed and sent to all my buds. An outrage!!!
when you dressed up sharp and you felt alright
A few days after my sixteenth birthday, I lost my Rocky Horror virginity with my best friend, in a shitty little duplex theater in Van Nuys. I'd wanted to see Rocky since I was ten or eleven on my way to an audition and my mom drove us past a marquee advertising a midnight showing every Saturday...

Wil, holy crap. I've been SO lazy reading blogs, but I just sat down t o watch one of my favorite shows, numb3rs and there you are.
Two of my favorite actors (you and David Krumholtz) in one show is... My god.
I'm so excited! You look so beautiful!!!!
186, and some other NUMB3RS
The good news is that I packed and labeled 186 books to be shipped. Of those 186, about 30 are international orders that still need customs forms and postage, but the rest are ready to go. This brings us to the bad news, which is that I just finished now, an hour after the post office closed, t...

So I missed your birthday and WWdN's birthday (or would it have been teh Box's bday?), but anyway, I read your blog when I can, and I hope you and your family are well.
Hope your summer was grand, Unca Willie.
back to reality
I had an on-camera audition yesterday, the first one in several months. It was for a sitcom, and the material was sort of tough: it was essentially the same beat over and over again, and I had to come up with ways to make each beat different and entertaining (well, at least to myself.) It was su...

I'm so excited for the Wii. I listen to the Wii60 podcast at Wii60.com every week. Good stuff.
Supposedly there will be an announcement in September telling us launch dates and prices...I can't wait to play Mario 1-3 again!
fore!
Hey, I wonder how many Huey Lewis fans are going to be disappointed when Google sends them to this entry? I'm thinking it will be 9. Anyway . . . In this week's Games of our Lives, I looked at Golf on the NES. I'm trying to include more NES games, but they're really hard to get my hands on (eve...

I just updated my blog with DCFC's "This Is The New Year" as well. Good to see you listen to DCFC and Nada Surf. I suggest The Long Winters... met them in September while they played with Keane and they were AWESOME. Was a fan before i met them... A fan for life after I saw them live!
HAve a good trip!
so this is the new year
Happy 2006, everyone! Anne, the kids, and I spent the day on New Year's Eve with all of my friends, playing nerdy games (Frank's Zoo is one of my new favorites) and eating all sorts of awesome food, because several of my friends have developed a passion of cooking in the last few years -- if you...
