Way to go Anne! I hope you had a great birthday Wil!
This is a real thing that happened.
I'm still processing the whole thing, through a mind that was recently completely blown, but I have to show you a picture, Internet: Anne gave me a surprise party for my 40th birthday. She spent a year planning it, and gathered 165 of my friends -- from around the world -- into one room to cel...
I just found Eureka this summer. Some friends of mine own the series on DVD and said that I should check it out. I'm glad I did. It's one of the few shows out there that my 10 year old daughter and I can both enjoy together. We've had a great time this summer watching the series. I am so disapointed that it hasn't been picked up for another season. I will join all the online forums and petitions to save the show, but I would like to say thank you to everyone involved with the series. It was fun and we're really going to miss it.

Saying goodbye to Eureka
Last year, my friend Amy told me she was moving from writing Leverage to writing Eureka. She asked me if I was interested in playing a scientist who was kind of a jerk. I said "yes" as fast as I could, and ended up playing Doctor Isaac Parrish for seven of the ten episodes in season 4.5. When se...
It's great that the power of the internet came through for you and managed to get your books to the Con. Now if we could only manage to find a way to make it work for the rest of us who deal with this shit from UPS/Fedex all the time. We're at their mercy, and they know it.
UPS shipping fail - updated (see end of post)
I shipped two boxes of books to Phoenix on Wednesday, to arrive here by 1030 this morning. I paid extra for this, like you do. As 11am rolled around and my books still weren't here, I got a little nervous, so I checked online to see where my packages were. It turns out UPS fucked up and "incorre...
Super Scribblenauts is pretty cool, but I like the original one much better. Either version, it just blows my mind how I can type in just about anything and it will appear on teh screen. Some people are so clever! And I'm glad you're nice to fans as well. I know it can get tiresome to constantly be recognized, but it always such a thrill to see a celebrity you admire. I think it's great that you're good about "not being a dick" to fans! :)
Wil buys a new game. It's super effective!
A pair of twenty-something Bros, dressed and posed in a manner that was such a hilarious cliche, if I described them exactly as I saw them, my editor would have said, "no, that's too cliche," stood near the front of the store, communicating in some kind of Broglish that leaned heavily on the wor...
Thanks for introducing me to what is now one of my favorite shows! Evil WW was great, I hope we see more of him.
The Wheaton Recurrence
It's Sunday afternoon as I write this. I can't publish this manually, because if I've read my call sheet correctly, I'm currently playing Dr. Isaac Parrish on Eureka. If we're on schedule, I'm working in a scene with Erica, Colin, and Neil. If my experience on the show so far is any indication, ...
That was beautiful said. Merry Christmas!
From the Vault: surrounded by the joy of the season
In December of 2001, Anne I were really struggling financially. It had already been a pretty lousy year, as far as work went, and after September 11th, things only got worse. As Christmas got closer, it was clear that we simply couldn't afford to put many things under the tree for our kids, let...
Amazing! How lucky are you??
Something something something awesome weekend
I had a rather ... interesting ... weekend. According to Paul and Storm on Sunday, I won the game of "What I did last night" that I didn't even know we were playing. It was so surreal, I'm mostly writing this down today so I never forget what an incredible time we had. Saturday, Anne and I were ...
That show was so funny! I've seen the ads for Big Bang, but never actually watched it. I will be tuning in on a regular basis now. Thanks for the new show to watch :)
The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary
I'm at w00tstock right now, and I haven't even seen the show, but I thought it would be fun to write a post in advance so anyone who watched The Big Bang Theory tonight would have a place to talk about it. If everything goes according to plan, this should post right as the episode is finishing o...
I'm so sorry. My car died 1 year ago this week, he was 15 yrs old. Our pets truly become our family.
through the fish-eyed lens of tear stained eyes
My dog Ferris, who was rescued from a bus stop in Monrovia by my wife Anne almost exactly 8 years ago, had a heart attack and died this morning. It happened very quickly, and I was with her, which is supposed to make me feel better, but at this moment all I can feel is nearly-unbearable sorrow, ...
Oh my goodness. Remind me never to open a Twitter account!
warning: contains satire, commentary, potty mouth.
My friend @ShaneNickerson wins at the internet. If you don't see video, try this link-o-matic click-ro-trocker right here.
You looked great Wil. And more importantly, you sounded very intelligent. Great interview!
hey, look, that's me!
I was really happy with my appearance on KTLA morning news earlier this week, even if the HD really showed off just how profoundly fucked up my teeth really are. If you have a minute and want to see me talking about books and technology and geek stuff, you can watch it at the LA Times Jacket Cop...
That was so great! The goth and the geek - I loved it :)
kyle + rosemary is finally online
I'm too busy to write about how incredibly awesome my trip to Seattle was, but I just found out that kyle + rosemary is online, and I want everyone in the world to watch it, because I'm so proud of it: Find more videos like this on Channel Frederator RAW (Thanks to reader squonkmama for the ...
It was pretty frickin' awesome! The McDonald's drive thru scene was priceless.
just in case you wanted to talk about tonight's TNG reunion on Family Guy...
Good days are few and far between. I'm glad you enjoyed yours! I just found out that some friends of my went to KSC with Shane. Small world, huh?
in which wil has a good day
Today was, as the song goes, and the movie says, a good day. I woke up before my alarm, feeling rested and relaxed. My dog met me before my feet hit the floor, and followed me to the kitchen, wagging her tail and nuzzling at my side the entire way. I grabbed a cup of coffee and wrote for about t...
Oh, good. Thanks for that info. I missed it the first time around and couldn't find it on the 'nets.
another chance to watch my episode of Criminal Minds
I just found out that my episode of Criminal Minds, Paradise, is going to be rerun this Wednesday, March 4 at 9pm Eastern and Pacific on CBS. I am tremendously proud of the work I did on this show, and I hope that, if you missed it the first time around, or you wanted to watch it again after rea...
It's totally awesome and I'm not that much of a geek!
drop down, reverse direction, increase speed
I told my wife, "You know, I haven't gotten past the first screen of Space Invaders in at least 20 years. I think I need to practice more." I thought for a second. "Train for it, I guess, is what I'm saying." She looked at me. "Train for what?" "Oh, um." I said, "you know, just to get bette...
That was cool, Wil! I look forward to watching it on Friday night.
video preview clip from fall of the blue beetle
As promised yesterday, here's a preview clip from Fall of the Blue Beetle, which airs this Friday, January 23 at 8pm on Cartoon Network. Rather than use up all my bandwidth hosting it myself, I'm using this embedded player that Comicmix has kindly made available. Check it out: Feel free to put...
I love board games! It seems like their popularity is really starting to come back. Pictionary is my all time favorite. My kids and I often play Skipbo together, which is really a card game, but it still counts. I've never played Apples to Apples. I'll have to check that one out.
a great guide to family board games
I love gaming. I love my family. Therefore, I love gaming with my family. The thing is, my kids aren't especially interested in a serious Battletech fight ("When do we get to fight each other?" "Just as soon as we finish building our Mechs." "But we've been doing that for an hour!" "I know! We h...

Creep factor overload!
plan b
My plan to be Doctor Horrible for Halloween was disrupted when I couldn't find the appropriate lab coat and goggles anywhere. Luckily, I had a much more disturbing Plan B.

This was really cool, thanks! I keeping checking the cbs website to see if they'll put the full episode up there. I missed it and now I'm really wanting to see it.
Criminal Minds: That's a Wrap!
This is the sixth and final post about working on episode four, Paradise, during season four of Criminal Minds. I spoke with CliqueClack.com about some of my production experiences, and I have a gallery of images from the shoot at Flickr. Please note that I've done my best to recreate my interac...

I have an upstairs book and a downstairs book so if I forget to bring one in either direction, Ill have something to read. Right now, I'm reading 20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill. It's pretty good and pretty creepy. I'm also reading Blink by Malcom Gladwell. It's also good, but requires more of my attention so it has not been attended to as well as the fiction books.
I wrote down some book titles here that I'm looking forward to checking out. This was a fun post!
Q: What book are you currently reading? Is it good so far?
I don't do memes, because once I start, I doubt I'd be able to stop. That wouldn't end well for anyone, especially my cat who is bacon-averse. This morning, though, while I was Propelling, I stopped at SF Signal and saw Quick Meme: What are You Reading? Q: What book are you currently reading? I...
