My favorite coffee cup is one of a pair that I bought myself at Starbucks a few years back on my birthday. We didn't have a lot of money at the time, but I could buy two coffee cups. So I did. :)

I've actually never been to REI, either. http://twitter.com/#!/quiddityingot/status/104585832429666305

I had my kids out walking two or three miles most nights until it got too hot (and yes, Dallas in July and August is too hot for walking at 8pm with littles). I hit the gym a few weeks ago - but I'm looking forward to cooler weather so we can get back outside. We all enjoyed it!

(I'm totally new, caught your blog link in the comments section on NPR a few minutes ago.) My six year old parrots EVERYTHING. I listened to the 'It's a Pillow! It's a Pet! It's a Pillow Pet!' for a YEAR before I got him one a few months ago for Christmas. (It's still being used, so I suppose he really wanted the darned thing.) It's so.freaking.annoying. I hated commercials before I had children. Now I despise them with a heated passion. Brian (the six year old, his brother is fifteen months and doesn't get any at all) watches television at his dad's house on the weekends. Otherwise, he gets it once in a blue moon - sick days, snow days, days that I can't take the endless chatter any longer. Commercials are about 50% of the reason why I refuse to even turn it on while they are awake. (I love my DVR. :|)

I love the idea and the quote, but I'm left wondering why the sword isn't a nice glowy blue shade.

We were out of school that day for a snow day. I lived a bit east of Atlanta, and I can with stunning clarity remember my mother wondering why they were going to launch the shuttle that day (due to the weather) as she turned on the television for me before going to make breakfast. Even more clearly can I remember her telling me that I was wrong, that there was no way that the Shuttle had just exploded as I yelled towards the kitchen a little while later.

Hope you get to feeling better soon, Wil. Don't bleed all over Anne - well, at least more than you need to, anyways.

I've actually never seen that show, but if you can tell us when it's going to air I'd watch it and give it a shot. Congratulations. :)

Hey Wil - do you have a link to order your new book through you, or does it need to be ordered through your publisher?

Good luck at PAX, Wil. As much as I want to attend and can't, you're still the only speaker I have any interest in listening to.

I wish every year that PAX was in Dallas. Now I'm even more sad. Congratulations, Wil. Totally awesome - you'll do wonderfully. :)

You feel my pain exactly. The older I get, the harder it is to find the time to devote to gaming. Great article, I always enjoy them. On the upside, my boyfriend and I took our 21 month old to camp out for the Wii this last weekend. Hanging outside of Best Buy with a tent was great, especially after we got the kid to sleep and we're walking around with a DS Lite in our hand watching and/or playing Super Smash Bros. out of the back of some dude's car. :)
