Hey Lynn - Thanks for the comment! How was your trip? Their are a few alternatives to PSE. I would suggest Adobe InDesign or Word. Adobe InDesign, its a program for graphic designers, and helps to give you magazine quality layouts. I have never used this program, but would love to learn. As for Word, you could create a 4 x 6 text box and play around with different fonts etc. You could then print the example on a plain piece of computer paper - then you could attach a blank 4x6 PL card on top of that piece of paper and run it through your printer again. Hope this helps! I would love to see what you create! Cheers, Jess :)
Hi Jess Thanks for the comment! I checked the Penny Paper Co website and this is the closest stamp to the one I ordered: http://www.pennypaperco.com/collections/stationery-custom-stamps/products/laurel-wreath-address-stamp I will email Lindsay, the owner, to see if there are more of the ones I purchased. And get back to you. Cheers, Jess

Thank you Sherlyn! The R stamp included the laurel wreath. I loved the designed and knew that I had to have one for Rowan. I knew I could use it in my Project Life album, as well as for cards and gifts. Cheers, Jess

Hey Caylee - I'm happy you like the image of the deer! My husband shot this photo and he's curious to know how you're thinking of using it. Cheers, Jess
Exactly Kim! I feel the same way!

Hey Veronika - I have never used Copystamp but I must check it out in PSE! Thanks for inspiring this post. Cheers, Jess :)
Hey Kelly - Thanks for the comment. Long time no see (heehee!)I edit my photos using Pic Tap Go app. Its $2 and help boost the colour and light in my iPhone photos. You may want to give it a try. Cheers, Jess :) PS > Best of luck transitioning back to work :)
Thank for your comment Andrea! My phone is my number 1 camera too. What are your favourite editing apps? My go to editing app is Pic Tap Go. Thanks again for reading. Cheers, Jess :)
Thanks for the comment Caylee! I am a basic user of PSE and I am intrigued by the healing brush tool. I totally need to learn more :)Hope you are enjoying you new "baby" / car :)
Hey Kate - I own an Epson Stylus 1400. Its a wide format printer and can produce images up to 13 inches wide. I bought it on sale at Vistek on Boxing Day. It was pricey but it is, hands down, the best investment Ive made in terms of scrapbooking. I am way more productive and can scrapbook any time I want. It is great for flexibility but I do spend alot on ink. Anywho, I am so glad you were able to use the irish saying!!! Cheers, jess
Thanks Rachel! xo
Thanks Caylee! Me too :)
Hey Kate - Thanks for the comment and reading my log. Seriously, you just made my day! I am glad you can use the freebie too. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Cheers, Jess :)
Hey Caroline - Great question. For this book, I purchased 5 books for myself and family members. Shipping was approximately $20-$25 dollars for everything, I have used Canadian photo book companies previously and found the total cost was approximately the same for 5 books but the quality wasn't as good as Artifact Uprising. Full disclosure, I loved AU so much I signed up to their affiliate program. I am not sure if shipping would be different for one book or if the time of year (ie it's not Christmas) has anything to do with that. I would contact the company directly if you are concerned. I know I don't want the shipping cost to be more than the value of the book! Hope this helps. Best of luck on creating your photo book! Cheers, Jess

Hey Veronika - thanks for your comment! I wish I could give you a big hug right now! I know what it's like to struggle. it's taken 3 years to develop my personal style and I now feel (somewhat) confident in how I complete my pages. But that hasn't always been the case. I've tried to copy others PL spreads when I first started in 2012 and it never felt like me. I would encourage you to keep trying out different styles not just mine. I think these things take time. What worked for me was focusing on taking "good" photos and telling our family story. That may or may not work for you. By the way, I'm super flattered that you were inspired by my spreads and tried switching your photos to b/w. Spoiler alert: I also worry that I'm not including enough color on my layouts and don't consider my layouts to be "perfect". I don't always love what I have created. I think we are our own harshest critics'. Look for a post on Thursday that will address some of your concerns. All I can't say is keep trying! We all started somewhere. Try focusing on one aspect that you like about PL and go with that for awhile. Big hugs, Jess :)

Hey Courtney - Thanks for the comment! I post the majority of my photos to Instagram. I have a public profile so anyone can see them. If you want to try the filters on Instagram you can easily be a private user so as not to overwhelm others. Alternatively you could post a photo and then delete it. The photo will still be saved on your phones camera roll. Another option is purchasing the Pic Tap Go app. They have great filters and you can edit pictures on your phone with worrying about posting them online. The app costs $1.99. Hope this helps with your photo process! Cheers, Jess

Hey Ellen - thanks for the comment. Sorry for the delay in response. Last June I wrote about how I choose my photos http://lifeonleeavenue.typepad.com/blog/2013/07/project-life-2013-my-photo-process.html. I hope that gives you an idea of how I choose my pictures. I will also be sharing more tips and tricks this Thursday in a follow up post. :) thanks again for reading :) Jess
